Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3

"Another re-hashed fighting game series..."

Gee, ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat 3? I guess it would have been too much to hope Ultimate = final game, but nooo they have to bleed it dry for all its worth (which ain't much by now). C'mon, didn't we learn anything from Street Fighter 2?? Oh well, I really shouldn't sound so negative... but I will. If it weren't for the fact that nearly all MK games are exactly the same, this game might just be good. But it's gotten so stale that its hard to stay awake through most of it.


Gameplay - 6/10
The same re-hashed game, but with the added bonus of horrible loading times. The only thing that makes up for it is ofcourse the games extras, especially characters.


Graphics - 5/10
Well the graphics are certainly nothing to tote around, atleast not for Saturn. I swear this game probably looks exactly the same on SNES.


Sound/Music - 8/10
Pretty good sound effects, the music however is only average if not right down dull.


Control - 7/10
It handles fairly well, no problems performing moves, combos, ect. that I've observed.


Replayability - 4/10
In my opinion this series died out after MK2, there are however newer MK games. I would suggest you look into one of those and not give this one a second glance.


Overall - 6/10
The game isn't too bad on its own, but the series is getting old. Midway needs to put this one to sleep, atleast for now.
