Shining Force III

Review by EmperorCesar

"A prize dog with fleas...."

Shining Force 3 is one of the greats..... it has exelent gameplay, good graphics, great soundtrack... but... I'll explain in the review.

Graphics-8/10: Although most characters look fantastic, some are just plain ugly[Masquirin, im looking at you]. Camelot used Sega Saturns full potencial, but the graphics tend to look a little blurry in the overworld, but aside from that, the graphics are truely well crafted.

Sound-9/10: You really cant ask for anything better... exept the voice acting. Its horrible. Some characters say something when they cast a spell or execute a special moves... some are great (Prepare yourself!.....Julian) and some you cant understand at all, but what ticks me off the most, when you hear the main character speak, the first thing that comes to mind it a retarded person with drool hanging from his lip. Im serious, thats what the main character sounds like. Camelot should of hired a homeless with a deep voice to fill the main characters part in.

Music-10/10: WOW, this is some great stuff. Every tune, and I mean EVERY single one is absolutely great. You really cant ask for better... and when that Final Battle hits, the final theme will have you screaming ''Long live the SHINING FORCE!!''

Gameplay-10/10: If you have played through Shining Force 2, you may have been upset by the fact that there were to few bosses in the game... well this game has soo many bosses, you might end up asking for a break! (not me, I think it makes it better) Boss after boss after boss... ahh... but on to the rest of the gameplay. You move 12 characters across a battle field, each with their own unique abilities.
Swordmans, Knights, Wizards, Monks, Warewolves and more. lots of variety here, and each character has a special move. Highly addictive, and very very fun.

Story-5/10: I love the characters..... I HATE the story. Politics.... damn politics! Theres so many names and locations, I lost frekin track of EVERYTHING. The story bore me to tears, for the first time ever I wished that I had to save a princess from an evil wizard or demon. Anything at all would have been more enjoyable. Geez.

Small drawbacks: First, you cant explore the world freely like in Shining Force 2. Second, There arent enough characters. And last and worse of all, *@$%# SEGA DINT BRING SCENARIO 2 AND 3 TO THE USA!

Overall, this is a great game thats worth the high price. If you are intrested in this game, I may know a link on were to get it for a mere $30. Great buy, I bought a Sega Saturn for this game alone, and it was completely worth it. Long Live The Shining Force! [kicks Camelot in the crotch for leaving Sega]
