Sega Rally Championship
Review by Oxfam
"Best arcade racer ever?"
The SEGA Saturn will be remembered for a lot of things but the game that always stands out for me is SEGA Rally Championship.
Gameplay
This is where SEGA rally Championship is very special and in my opinion is still unrivaled in any arcade racing game.
The game may only have 2 cars and 3 tracks (Not including unlockables) but yet the game never gets old and is always a real joy to play, from the way the cars handle to the rush of blood after you beat your course record by a 10th of a split second!.
There are 3 modes of play and there all good.
Arcade
This is the main part of the game and is identical to the game in the arcades, you race from check point to check point and at the same time try to improve your track position.
Time Trial
You will probly spend most of your time here, trying to improve you lap time and getting a new lap record has never been so much fun. You will be playing in this mode for a long time.
Multi Player
Another part of the game that will have you playing for along time, this can be very fun of your playing with someone who is at your skill level as just one contact with wall can end all hope you have of beating your friend.
The gameplay is simply magic.

Graphics
For a Saturn game the graphics are amazing and still look just as sweet today as they did then.
The cars and the tracks are very well detailed and there are some nice features such as birds flying from the ground as you get near them.

Sound/Audio
The co-drivers instructions are very well done and nice and clear, Cars noise is also good and you get a good feel of the engine working and gear movement.
The ingame music is very decent and the games menu music is also good.
8/10
Replay Value
This is also a very strong point of the game, you would think a game with so few tracks and cars would become stale very quickly but believe me you will be playing this game for many many years.
I'm still playing this and the game is now over 6 years old, i think that says it all!.
The main part of replaying this game is to try and beat your best time and that alone is very fun.

Rent It or Buy It?
This game costs about the same price as a hamburger from Burger King so i don't think you will need any help making a choice. and where are you going to find anywhere renting Saturn games now?.
If this game still was full price it would still be a great buy.
Overall
10/10
