"Are you ready Quaker?!"

Wow! I'm totally impressed by this version of Quake for the Saturn! I never expected this considering the Saturn's limited hardware and memory, but Lobotomy(thank you!!) outdone themselves again. Quake sets the Saturn on fire with blazing speed and gloomy 3D graphics to run around and explore.

GRAPHICS:10/10
Dude! The 3D graphics are sweeter than a whole box full of Milky Way. The light-sourcing. The textures. Everything had been perfectly ported from the PC version. Sure, most of the animation are nowhere to be found and the monsters lost some detail, but what's there looks great. Check out the light-sourcing when you blast your nails in a corridor and you'll see my point. If only a Saturn version of Quake II
is possible..........

SOUND:10/10
Are you hearing what I'm hearing? The blast from your shotgun. The cries you hear when you waste a grunt. All the sound FX from the PC version made it to the Saturn A-OK.
They're loud and lots of it in stereo sound but not as crisp as its big brother. Overall the sound is excellent.

GAMEPLAY:10/10
The best part of the game, the action is fast and furious
(well, most of the time), especially in Jevon's control mode! Get your trigger finger primed 'cause enemies are everywhere and lots of them. Be alert. you'll never know what's in that corner or what's lurking behind you! And remember, blast 'em where it hurts!!

REPLAY VALUE:10/10
With 27 levels to master and secrets to find, you'll be playing Quake for weeks till end.

OVERALL:10/10
Quake takes the crown from Duke and proclaims itself as KING OF CORRIDOR SHOOTERS on Saturn. Cool graphics, fast gameplay, and tight controls makes this one a true clasic that belongs in everyone's library of Saturn games.
