Sonic CD

Review by Gigatek

"Sega's hedgehog creates another legend..."

Sonic The Hedgehog was one of the most awesome games for the Genesis. From time to time, the blue blur gave the players good entertainment. On the Genesis, Gamegear, Master System, and Dreamcast Sonic never failed to impress anyone! This is no exception. Sonic CD is one of the best Sonic games ever. The below states speak for themselves:

GAMEPLAY: 10/10

Sonic is the same as before. You have good control over the blue blur. He is always speedy, and it's always fun to jump around, collect rings and items while bopping enemies and such. This hedgehog deserves a whopping ten out of ten.

SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10

What's to blame? It's reasonable that Sonic The Hedgehog has one of the best audio in the world. The music is awesome, better than mostly all others (although personally, I like Megaman's tunes better). As for the sound effects, they're great. However, it gets pretty annoying every time you here Sonic get hurt or lose his rings or something (or him screaming?)

GRAPHICS: 8/10

Judging from a computer game, the graphics are good and they aren't that bad either. The animation is awesome and every sprite is well-shaded and drawn. I don't recommend anything else other than these wonderful graphics, but nothing surprises me either. Same as always.

DIFFICULTY: 5/10

The game isn't that difficult, although it can get on your nerves sometimes. I stopped playing for at least a whole month when I couldn't beat a boss, but after playing some other Sonic games, I got used to the gameplay and went ahead and beat the game. Seriously, it's not that aggravating.

REPLAY VALUE: 5/10

The replay value is great if you're good at this game, but terrible if you're discouraged by your ''GAME OVER'' and such. Playing this game once a while is good enough (you don't expect to be playing every ten minutes, do you?!) That'd be scary.

STORYLINE: 7/10

The story isn't really explained in this game, although you do see scenes during gameplay that ''kinda'' explain what the plot is all about. Rescuing Amy isn't the best thing a heroic hedgehog can do in the world, but then again, it's a start.

OVERALL: 10/10

This game is definitely worth a buy. If you want a challenge, this is your game. If you want good graphics, this is also your game. Sega was even generous enough to include a hidden sound test in the game. Now you can listen to all the tunes you want! However, that's only part of the game's awesome quality...
