"Sega's Compact Disc Blue Streak makes off with Highest praise at even higher speeds and counting."

Nowadays a Sonic game sucks. That's the rule for a great 2D franchise that moves to 3D. Some Exceptions will be made, (Mario's one of them.) but when it comes down to it, you cannot beat two dimensions. Let's get down to it: Sonic CD is one of the best 2D games of the past ever.

Graphics: 8.7 (That's Excellent.)

The graphics are better than your average Sega CD game. Oh wait, Your average Sega CD game mostly cobbles together FMVs, HUDs, a Brick, and your face. SCD also has the neat ability to make you gaze in awe towards the special stages. The Graphics are just that good. Only problem: The rings look the same and Sonic's character sprite is similar to the Sonic 1 sprite. Yep. it's nothing.

Sound: 9.99 (Near Perfect, Man.)

Whether you play the version that the country with the fifty stars got or the one from the Rising Sun, The music is spot on. Your mileage may vary with the one you perfer, but they are both awesome. Also, all the sounds are there. including the Jingling ding when you pick up a Ring. if there was one problem about it, it would be that the Jump sound has been downgraded in quality. a bit. Once again, it's nothing to complain about. Oh, and this is the first time we ever hear anyone say anything in the Sonic series, even if they're just quick sound bytes. (the SEGA chant doesn't count.) Absolute Nirvana.

Gameplay: 10 (We are the perfect. Anything less is inferior.)

Absolute bliss. You run and jump, and you collect rings. Get hit, you lose all the bling you got. get hit with no rings and you bite the dust. It's business as usual, except this time you get to run through TIME ITSELF! Yup. Run through a sign marked "Past" or "Future", maintain high speed for a few seconds, and prepare to rip through the space-time continuum. Just don't trip up on your makeshift flux capacitator or you don't go anywheres, bub. If you go to the Past, run through "Future" sign and you end up in the present. while in the the present, if you hit the "Future" sign, and you go to the Future. "Past" while there, and you head to the present. Oh, and there is also the Special Stages to consider. You go and you destroy UFOs to get the time stones (Chaos Emeralds) to get the good ending.

Overall: 10

I would give it an 20/10, but I can't. Even if I could, it'd be a MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT. This game is most definitely the best Sonic game of all time, and maybe even the best game of all time. 'nuff said. I give Sonic CD The biggest 10 you can ever imagine.
