---- Summer Congress of 1775 ----

Once it is called to order you see your budget for this season.
Then?you will have two options to select from.

Board of War Chairman (John Adams) - This will allow you to request troops in
one of the three areas (Northern, Central, Southern). Select the Southern and
Mr. Adams will send two regiments.

Marine Committee Chairman (William Vernon) - He will have no support for you
this season, as you have yet to establish a navy.

Next you will have to establish the salaries for your generals, give them
whatever their normal salary is listed as (1320). Then the William Vernon will
ask if you spend any more funds on your navy (select aye), you will contribute
to the 1st Fleet (it is your only option) and purchase 3 ships. Allocate the
remaining amount of your budget to the Regiments. Confirm the allocations and
your first Congressional Meeting will be over.

The naval control will be established in the three areas of colonies. Likely
the British will gain control of the Northern colonies, The Central (or Middle)
and Southern colonies will either be controlled by the Americans (unlikely),
the British, or free from naval control.

--- Campaign of the Summer of 1775 ---

Your first moves with all districts except Springfield (:6) will be purchasing
food and powder they maybe lacking (I try to keep the same number of food and
powder as the men in the regiments). If you have additional funds left over
after purchasing food and powder, you can begin to try and gain district
support with Gazettes (under the Domestic heading), these cost 100 gold and 20
body points, but are far more effective in gaining support than Parades. You
will also want to start positioning your Officers to be the most effective in
fighting the British which are positioned in Boston (:5) and Canada (:7-9).

--- Individual Commands for Districts --- (random order for district turns)

19: W. Thompson move to Hartford(:22), as he can take over Command of the
Revolutionary forces there

15: Train as much as you can

14: Draft troops and recruit W. Heath (it should cost you any money,
his loyalty is 70)

13: Train as much as you can

22: (Recruit D. Wooster, no money as his loyalty is 90), then move troops to
Springfield (:6)

21: Train N. Hale (another option is to use N. Hale to spy on Boston (:5) with
no money so he is captured and hanged, this will rally support for your cause,
but you will lose Hale's regiment)?? ?

20: Train C. Greene

18: Move W. Alexander to Albany (:15)

The main force is in District 6 (Springfield), if you are lucky this will be
the first district you have a turn with. Since this is your main force and is
led by the C-in-C George Washington you will have around 600 gold to work with
which is by far the largest amount.

First go to Materials, Build Cannons. Select C. Lee to build them, select
H. Knox to use them. Now go to Personnel, Furlough, select C. Lee and D. Mason,
set the turns to 3. Then got to Materials, Food, and purchase food
(around 1500-2000) with either J. Thomas or H. Knox, use the other one of the
officers to purchase powder (Materials, Powder). Got to Military, Drill, select
all available officers. At this point you should save your game.

________________________________________________________________________

--- The Battle for Boston ---

Once you have saved the game, go to Military, Battle, select all available
officers (should be all of them expect I. Putnam, C. Lee, and D. Mason) and
attack Boston (:5). You should now request aid/support from Portsmouth (:11)
and Newport (:20). When the battle screen begins you will be able to select
where you would like to station your troops. Put G. Washington on the area
below the little inlet, with H. Gates behind or above him. Place H. Knox below
them, and W. Washington near there as well. The remaining officers will go up
from these. Keep all your forces moving up except C. Green from Newport (:20)
and W. Washington, G. Washington, and H. Gates. Try to keep on the north
portion of the map to distract the British fleet. Move Gates, W. Washington,
G. Washington,? and Greene toward the castle/stone fort in the south, this
where C-in-C Thomas Gage of the British forces will be located, along with two
other regiments. Try to strike at Gage fast and furious, and do not attack
any other regiments (except the two with Gage) unless it is with H. Knox's
cannons.

Once you have attacked Gage down he will try to escape, if you capture him
the battle ends and you have captured all the regiments with minimal losses.
(If Gage escapes, reset and start from the save point, go to the battle again
and try to capture him.) Once th battle concludes you will have the option to
release or imprison the captured officers, I suggest letting them all be
released except W. Howe, R. Pigot, and H. Clinton. You will now have gained
Washington a lot of respect in the Congress and will likely avoid any
Vote of Confidence. You will also receive a nice reward from the
District of Boston, as the British forces there will have left a substantial
amount of gold, food, and powder. Since you will have cleared British forces
from the American Colonies for the turn you will also receive the
Historical Event of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (which will
come a couple of turns later in the game and boosts support for your forces
in all the colonies).

________________________________________________________________________

--- After the Battle ---

You will use the funds from Boston to rebuild your main force, I also suggest
giving H. Gates a bonus of 100 gold to increase his loyalty. Then you will
start to move all the regiments (leaving one in each district to control the
district) toward districts 15 and 13. You may also want to send a force of 4-5
regiments to Portsmouth (:11) to use a two point attack on the remaining
Northern British forces.

Once you have a force of 5-6 regiments in district 13 you can invade Montreal
(:9), which will have the next C-in-C of the British forces Guy Carlton.
Capture him in the same manner as you did Gage and you have gutted the British
leadership in two battles, making the remainder of the game much easier.
Also make sure to imprison Carlton as well.
You will continue to take over Canada, you will also
see where the British have regiments coming in (likely the Central area) over
the next several turns.

One key to victory is recruiting as many Revolutionary regiments as you can.
They will not be great in battle, but since you will not have the opportunity
to use mercenaries like the British, they work well in evening out the forces
and they work really well at staying back and maintaining control of
districts.

--- Special Rewards ---

Let the British forces take Philadelphia (:27) which
will trigger the Congress offering you a reward to take it back.
Otherwise continue taking over the Northern colonies and you will trigger
Congress offering you a reward to take over all the Northern colonies.
Both rewards are worth the gold and are part of the overall strategy of
removing all British forces from America which you will need to win the game.

_____________________________________________________________________________

--- What about those two Southern regiments you asked Congress for? ----

Well, you can use them to recruit Revolutionary forces in the South and help
gain some support for your war efforts with Gazettes. They will likely not see
much action till later in the game, but they will keep the British forces from
gaining a strong foothold in the South.

_____________________________________________________________________________

The Fall Congress of 1775 will have you promoting a couple officers, choose
ones with lower loyalty or reputation, as the promotion will add to these
numbers. Add ships to your navy and request troops in the Northern area to help
you finish off the British forces there. This should get you set on the right
track to defeat the British forces and gain America's Independence.

After defeating the Northern forces make sure to keep a Continental Officer
in every district so the British cannot move troops in (it only takes one turn
for all your work to be for nothing).
Keep pushing the British forces south and eventually you will corner them in
the Florida districts. By this time the French and Spanish will
have likely declared aid for you. Use all the new found support and troops to
rid the American colonies of the British for good.
