1.Introduction
Yep! Me again! This time, on a game for Sega genesis, and super nes!
This game just so randomly happens (yeah right) to have spider-man and
venom, which are in my mind 2 of the kewlest comic characters! Just
wish they could have had dark hawk, daredevil, and punisher in it. Oh
well. It is a really, really good game. Only problem is IT HAS SO MANY
LEVELS AND NO LEVEL SELECT CHEAT OR INVULNERABLITY CODE! Darn it. But
this should help. Hopefully, a lot. Anyway, lets just give it a go,
shall we? Yes we shall. Or else. Or else what? Err... a piano will fall
on your head? Ummm... lets just go ahead and do it...

2.Updates
12/17/00 Did the controls.
12/13/00 Did much better title art, and _FINALY_ updated some parts
from emails sitting around from quite a while ago. Gah. I really have
got to start updating my other FAQs that aren't complete, rather than
doing new ones...*slaps himself on his forehead* Also did the superhero
icon section.

Well, this is one of those games with different controls for 3 button
controllers and 6 button controllers. So here they are.

What is the difference between Spiderman and Venom???
Well, lets give some history on both.
Spiderman:
Peter Parker was just a normal teenager, but then he was bitten by a
radioactive spider by accident during a science experiment. The spider
got in the way of a radioactive beam during a test and then bit peter.
Then he realized one day, that he felt stronger, and felt like he could
almost hang on walls, and he realized he could. Then he used some stuff
to make his webbing, made little cartridges out of it, and stuck it in
a machine type thing he had, so whenever he put his middle and finger
by it and his little one together, it would squeeze the machine so it
would come out. He also thought that he wouldn't want webbing left all
over the place, so he made a chemical in it, so once it had been there
for 1 hour, it would evaporate. Now, he realized he couldn't just let
everyone know he was peter Parker, so he made his suit, put holes for
his webbing, and from then on, was your friendly neighborhood
spiderman! And spiders are quick, right? That is what spidy is. Quick.
But are they that strong? No, so he is a bit weaker than some of his
super enemies.

Venom:
Eddie brock worked at the daily bugle with peter Parker. But he always
wondered, how in the world did he get such good pics of Spiderman? Then
he began to wonder, was he Spiderman himself? So after doing some
spying, he realized he was. But no one believed him. But then J. Jonah
Jameson, the owner of the daily bugle, had his son go up to the moon.
But when he got back, something had come with him and hidden. It was a
symbiot. It found Spiderman, and made him far more powerful than
before, but then he realized something. He wasn't good enough for it.
It was taking him over. Such strength all of a sudden had been a
surprise for him, and he couldn't control it, and it started making him
be mean to his friends, so then he realized it was hurt by sound. He
went right up to a bell, and when it rang, it came off. The symbiot was
hurt by this, and hated him. Then it found Eddie. Both of them had
loads of hate for Spiderman. So they teamed up, and were forever known
as, well, lets quote from the TV show. "There is no more Eddie Brock,
Spiderman. There is only Venom" and it was like that forever. But they
would acationaly team up to stop a powerful enemy, even if they did
both hate each other, they both had common sense. Now, venom takes a
long time to take effect, very slow right? So is Venom. But is it
powerful when it has taken effect? You bectha it is!

5.Bad Guys:
Carnage:
Kasady was a lunatic ever since he was a child, being an orphan, once
he thought he was old enough to live by himself, he burned down the
orphanage, killing everyone in it, but him. And the police thought it
was just an accident done by someone, and never suspected little Casady
to do it. Now he has grown up, and takes great pleasure in killing
anyone whenever he gets the chance. And he enjoys twisting them around
until they almost pop, too. Carnage means blood and guts. Sure is a
nice name for him.
Best way to defeat: superheros, and headbutt(spidy)/elbow ram(venom)

Shriek:
Frances Barrison never had any children, even though she wanted one so
badly. Then she somehow got the powers to turn into shriek(anyone know
how? I don't...if you do email me at rwad64@ignmail.com) and found
Malcom McBride and decided that he would be her son. Shriek means to
scream. After seeing her, you want to.
Best way to defeat: Grab her with webbing (she is the only one which
can be grabbed with it) and throw her, and webgrab and do punch punch
punch uppercut when you have her in your hands.

Carrion:
Malcom McBride was just a normal kid, but then he got a virus that
turned him into Carrion, which Shriek decided was her son. This means
dead meat. Hmm. Stupidly enough I know rather large words sometimes and
not obvious ones. Gah. Anyways, thanks to but he has the power to grab
your head and kill you or something.
Best way to defeat: jump kicks. Sometimes if he is low enough in the
air you can do a special move on him. But just jump kick him.

Doppleganger:
Okay, I don't have a clue about where this guy came from. I mostly just
saw the spiderman cartoon show and got as many comics as I could of
spiderman, but just at this one sale that happens once a year where I
live. whenever I could get them, I did. Anyway, no idea where this guy
came from. If anyone knows, email me!
Best way to defeat: doing your punch punch punch uppercut move.

Demogoblin:
Same as dopple. No idea whatsoever. Heck, I had heard of doppleganger
and seen pics of him but never read a comic with him in it, but
demogoblin, I had never heard of until I got this game. Odd. Anyway. If
you know about him, email me!
Best way to defeat: headbutting(spidy)or elbow raming(venom), or jump
kicks, or special move.

6. Superheroes
Black Cat
Spiderman: She will flip one way across the screen then come flipping
back.
Rating: Pretty good if the enemy doesn't go out of the path that she
flips in.
Venom: She pounces on an enemy, then flips off-screen.
Rating: It's sorta a tossup between this and the other version that
Spidy has. This has far more chance to hit someone, rather than just
hoping like no ones business that it hits like Spiderman's, but his can
hit more than this. But this is pretty average overall. Doing this in
large crouds can be rather useful...

Captain America
Spiderman and Venom: He will fling his shield across the screen. It can
hit enemies on the way back if they go into the range where he threw
it.
Rating: Nothing great, less than average if anything. It can do a nice
amount of damage to the enemy, but the problem is it more than likely
will just hit one. That's a major problemo.

Cloak
Spiderman and Venom: He engulfs the screen in darkness when he is
called, with his cloak.
Rating: Very good. It damages everyone, and does lots of damage.

Dagger
Spiderman and Venom: She waves her hand around shooting beams of light
all over, doing lots of damage.
Rating: VERY VERY USEFUL. This does loads of damage and can be very
helpful when surrounded by a mob of enemies.

Deathlok
Spiderman and Venom: He shoots pellets out of his guns and hits any
enemy in the range.
Rating: Very good. Not the best, but still rather helpful.

Firestar
Spiderman: She shoots fire around one enemy.
Rating: Not very likely to get more than one enemy, but more than
likely will inflict major damage.
Venom: She flies across the screen shooting a straight beam of fire
onto any moronic enemys who walk right into the path of doom. =b
Rating: Very likely to hit multiple enemies, and very powerful. Overall
very possibly the best superhero attack.

Iron Fist
First off, let me mention a typo I just made and corrected. "Iron Fish"
That says enough. Iron Fish...Marvel Comics, I just got a great idea
for your next X-Man...
Spiderman: He jumps in and gives Spiderman full health, doing no damage
whatsoever to the enemy.
Rating: Definitely useful. Keep these for when you get low on health
and it will help you keep those lives & continues for the last levels.
Venom: He jumps in and jump kicks twice hoping to hit the enemies.
Not always the most accurate attack, but rather powerful.

Morbius
Being an enemy of Spiderman, I don't know why he would help...maybe
it's because he knows the power of Carnage and wants to help? Just
hungry and wants a quick bite and drink (pun intended)? Anyway, it's
nice to see one of my favorite Spiderman characters in this game
regardless.
Spiderman and Venom: He sucks the blood away from all enemies on the
ground.
Rating: Very useful. Not very powerful, but it hits everyone which is
rather helpful.

Rating: Very strong, powerful, and hits everyone. Awesome attack. Same
as with Venom.

7. Strategy
New York Street
Okay. Easy level until the end. Just simply grab the people with
webbing, pick 'em up, and toss them at others, repeat, lather, rinse,
dry until desired...um...why am I sounding like a shampoo bottle?
Anyways, at the end there is a paper with a heart on it. Toss the paper
at a enemy that comes out for some quick damage. Also, be sure to climb
the wall above it to the top, and move around, and soon you will find a
extra life up there. Now for the boss fight. Now we have to fight some
biker babes. The one wearing green takes less time to lower her defence
by attacking her then the one wearing blue. Just do what you did with
the bums in the beginning of the level, pick up and throw. Simple.

Climb
First, web sling twice to the left, and get on the wall over there so
you are close to the window. Move so that you are more to the top than
bottom and your right arm and leg are on it. Now jump kick off. If you
did it corectly, you will be in a secret room don't go to the right
until it says to. Otherwise you will walk out without beating everyone,
and most of the time when you beat someone you get a prize...here we
have a bum(no prize)and 3 biker babes, but they don't take near as long
to beat, also everyone just comes out one at a time. So don't worry
about 3 biker babes to be pestering you. Each biker babe you defeat
leaves a life. Get it. And on your way out, get the health, if you
didn't get it earlier. And you CAN use the fire extinguishers to attack
them. Now for the main level. Climb to the top of the wall. Now hold
right and up at the same time to swing over. Swinging when you need to
and soon you will be at the top. Just ignore Doppleganger and stay out
of his way.

The Rooftop
Now, walk over to the watertower and punch. A lot. Ignore doppleganger.
Let him attack you. After a while the legs on the tower break. Pick it
up, grab the contenue underneath, and toss the watertower onto dopple.
Also, you could just walk over to the top right as far as you can, and
face the right. When doppleganger punches you, it falls back on him.
Both work. I prefer letting him punch me. It is easier than trying to
aim. But sometimes it will instead fall forwards and you will have to
kill him normaly. Just do whatever you please.

Alleyway
Keep punching the guys, and when you get to the dumpster, pick it up
and throw it. Eventualy you get to a part where the wall juts out a bit
on the right. Climb the part that is just a bit away from it on the
left. Then swing over to the left for health and a life. Keep going
until you pass the door. Then climb up the wall that juts in and get
the contenue. Then you hear the boss fight music again. To beat fatso,
keep body slaming him and doing punch punch punch uppercut. (you don't
have to beat him. If you don't, cloak and dagger come in to save you)
then, if you do, pick up the life he leaves. Then 2 others come out at
the same time. Then if you kill them, one gives you a big heart, and
the other nothing, unless I didn't see it. Then 4 come out. And I
almost had them killed, but they got me first. Anyway, whenever you
die, cloak and dagger come and save you, and give you full health on
that life you just died with, so you realy don't lose one at all.

The Hall
Now, you wake up in the church you passed outside while fighting. And
through the window comes...yep. Doppleganger! After a while, shriek
comes too. Dopple can't be attacked by webbing things, so don't bother.
Just punch punch punch uppercut. As for shriek, she can get pulled to
you by webbing. So do use webbing for her. After they get low on
health, carnage comes in and hurts dagger(I think? Maybe she dies. No
idea.)then the level is over. Now we go to...

Here you should first go to the center area, shoot a web straight up,
and climb up and grab a cloak icon. Now drop down, and fight! To beat
this the goblin, just simply keep on using your specail move again and
again on him until beat. Not too hard.

Here you just beat up all the homeless people and biker babes, until
you see a ATM machine. Do the spin move against it(a and b and the same
time) and you find a hidden room! Just keep on killing the biker babes
and the homeless guy. The homeless guys give you nothing, the biker
babes give you lives. now you will soon have to fight some somewhat
tough bosses. They are two more fat guys. Juts keep on grabing,
punching until you drop them, and do that to the other, and keep
alternating. Now onto...

Central Park
Oh goody two shoes. This place is pretty easy, but if you are low on
health it can be a real pain. jUst keep on doing your punch punch punch
pound move on doppleganger and on shriek, keep dong a elbow ram.
Eventualy you will have it beat. Just be careful.

Now another split up. Who to choose? Spidy or venom? Hmm... I think you
should go venom this time. It will lead you to another hidden room.

New York Streets 2
Loads of punks and homeless, and at the end, a boss fight with some
umbrella guys. Just keep moving around until you can do a double smash
with the webbing. It will kill them in one hit, and give you another
life. Just don't attack them and it will work.

The Deep
First off, don't move. Go to the right and collect the life. Now inch
towards the left, and when you see the tip of someones clothing, get
them with webbing or the symbiot, and beat them up when they are by
you. Keep doing this. Soon some other guys and girls will come out of
nowhere. Be careful. Now sometime during the fight, they shoulda
dropped a Cloak superhero icon. Get it. Now on the way out, get the
health on the couch and the 2 black cat icons.(4 all together of bc)
now beat the bosses! First off, keep doing your specail until you don't
have enough health left to do it. Now jump up by one of those things
and get the 2 hearts there. Keep doing it. When you get low again, if
you haven't already killed dopple and demo, get the other hearts and
keep it up. If you did kill both of them, Shriek will come out. Just do
web grab punch punch punch uppercut on her. Now, when
Fantastic 4 headquarters
Just keep on beating up the little goobers, and at one point you go
back, and when you do, make sure you pick up the contenue on the comp.

Fantastic 4 lab
When you see the first arrow pointing backwards, just keep jumping
around it and jump kicking around it until it takes you into the secret
room. Kill all the robots, and get the Dagger icons, and lifes. Get all
the hearts when you have gotten all the enemies, and wait around awhile
and a contenue will appear. Get it, and go out. Now fight this big dog
robot. Just keep hanging onto the wall and droping off, as when you
drop off, it is a kick attack. When it makes the ~clank~ sound of when
you hit him, immediately press up to grab back onto the wall. Keep it
up and eventualy he will die. Just have paitiance. And DON'T try to
fight him on the ground. One hit from him does loads of damage.
Sometimes kills you totally. Ugh.

Rooftop 2
First off, run to the left, and then go to the top. Now you should be
behind the tree. Jump and you should get a icon of spiderman/venom
depending on who you are playing as. If you play as the other later in
the game, it will change to the other. Now try to kill Doppleganger by
just doing the punch punch punch uppercut thing. As for Demogoblin,
keep running and doing a headbutt(spiderman) or elbow ram(venom)
against him. Then soon Shriek and Carrion come out. Kill Shriek by
using both of the methods you used to defeat dopple and demo, and for
Carrion, keep jump kicking him. Then someone there should drop a
firestar icon. Forgot who. Get it. Now when carnage comes out, use an
icon against him. Spiderman/venom or firestar work best. Then let
yourself get hit once. Then he leaves.

Prospect Park
At the begaining, go back to the gates and shoot a web straight upward.
Get the morbius icon. At the first tree that you come to that covers
the screen, do the same thing. You get a spidy/venom icon. This place
is real fun...you have 10 bosses...real fun. Make your way through, and
use the super heros, but sparingly. You can throw the rocks you come
across. At the end you find 2 biker babes. Beat them. Now you have 2
fat guys. Beat them. Now 2 guys with umbrellas. Beat them. Now you have
4 guys with guns. Use superheros. Good luck.

Prospect Park 2
Kill the bosses. Dopple leaves a big heart, so get him down to nearly
no health, then leave him and fight the others, and avoid him until you
need a health refill. Then do that last hit and get the big heart.

Statue of liberty
Why would you WANT to go to another level you could normaly skip?
Because it is mostly like a secret room, just more enemys and more
powerups. Superheros, health, lotsa stuff.

Manhattan Street
First off, run to the left, get the icon on top of the dumpster, and go
to the right, and get the icon on the wall. Now use fighting and
superheros to kill all these guys, then you fight carnage and co. very
hard. But you can't use superhero icons in the last 2 levels, which are
right after this, so just go ahead and use all of them if you have to.
But if you have a spiderman, save it for carnage. But if you have more
than one spiderman, go ahead and use them to quickly clear out the
others.

Police department
Kill all the guys with guns, if you HAVE to you can use at the most 1
superhero. Jump around the area and shoot webs and drop around the
place that is a very large door that says "Solitary 27". It leads to a
secret room. This is a rather long level...

Manhattan Rooftop
This place has a superhero icon I remember, but I don't remember where.
Here you just fight homeless guys and shriek. Backflip onto the sunroof
to enter a hidden room. Thanks to Miguel Aboytes for this.

Manhattan Street 2 (Venom's Manhattan Street 2)
Kill all the homeless, umbrella guys, etc, and then fight the bosses.
The bosses are all the ones you have fought before, except it takes
forever to kill these. Strangely enough, in the next 2 levels, you
can't use superheros. So, make use of all those guys you collected. If
you have any Venoms, use them on the tougher bosses.

WHAT THE...
Carnage just got out of the lake behind you! Now you have to fight him,
but this time, he doesn't have his little friends to help him out. Just
him and him alone. Do whatever it takes to beat him. You get as many
lives as you had at that point before you got here, with spidy and
venom. Do what you would do to call out a superhero to switch. Just
keep punching him and do anything to beat the snot out of him. It is
pretty hard, but not anything compared to the hell you put up with in
the next level...

Ruined Boy's Home
The last level. It's just like the last, except he has LOADS more
health. Good luck beating him. I've gotten there lots of times, but
couldn't beat him. He is usually just going to attack, and usually
doing a straight forward attack so when he does one, just move up if
you are at the bottom, or down if you are at the top, and towards him.
Just keep it up and hopefully you can beat him. Which I can't at the
time. You can't use superheroes here. Don't even bother. Just use them
in the other levels. Trust me, it will help. Also there is a hidden
room here. Just let Carnage knock you into the doorway. Thanks to
