Here comes yet another FAQ from me to you. This game is a blast, and i
can say i personally enjoyed it when it came out. This was on the request
list at gamefaqs.com (although very low), and there isn't anything (not even
codes) for it, and since i'm not busy writing any N64 guides, i'm doing
my best to help all you loyal SNES users out there, as i own about every
SNES game on the planet - Enjoy...

What's the nice thing about writing FAQs for the SNES instead of N64?
I can get 3 faqs done in two days instead of one faq done every 2
weeks or so. This faq isn't totally complete, but it covers 10 of the
12 levels in the game. Yes, if you must know, i cannot beat level 9,
and i'm not patient enough to keep trying. If ANYONE would care to send
a guide for levels 9 and 12, i would give full credit. This faq is still
the best source for help on Yoshi's Safari on the 'net IMHO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
II. Contact Information
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As always, the author of this faq can be found at jdude84@hotmail.com
You can e-mail any questions, comments, or suggestions to me as well.
You COULD also find me on ICQ, but i don't talk to every bum that ICQs
me, oh well. Make sure you read below first, unless you don't want to get
a reply. Or you could always ignore section 3 as many others do and be
permanantly filtered!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
III. Before You E-Mail
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've tried about 3 different ways to make this clear to people, and yet
they still don't get it. So here, presenting a format even a first-grader
would understand:
DO NOT:
_ E-Mail me junk, the defenition of junk would be Chain Letters, Unreadable
Mumbo-Jumbo, Incredibly stupid questions.
_ E-Mail me asking\telling me to update my faq, i update my faqs A.S.A.P., not a
second sooner!
_ E-Mail me asking how to get to a certain level, as this info will be in the
FAQ sooner or later.
_ E-Mail me asking if you can post this faq.
_ E-Mail me asking if you can sell this FAQ.
_ E-Mail me asking if i will work for your site\create your site\be affiliated
for your site\write FAQs for your site.
DO:
_ E-Mail me questions that haven't been answered in the F.A.Q., or any other
reasonable question.
_ E-Mail me suggestions for the next update
_ E-Mail me with submissions such as a code i'm missing if you'd like.
_ E-Mail me with corrections, such as spelling errors, wrong information. When
doing this please include the section the error is in, making it easier to find
the error.
WEBMASTERS - DO NOT:
_ Post this F.A.Q. on your site.
_ ASK me if you can post this faq on your site.
_ Link directly to this FAQ.
WEBMASTERS - DO:
_ Link INDIRECTLY to this FAQ.
_ Leave me alone.

V. Help Guide - The Beginning Levels
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, before we start, i'll mention that this game DOES use the super scope,
so learn the controls, put the zapper 1 inch from the screen, as i always
do :) Also note that this part of the guide focuses on the starting worlds!
- - - World One: Mushroom Kindom <Red Gem> - - -
Right off at the first turn, goombas appear to the left, and then the right
in the air, shoot em' all for a few points. When you come to the gate up
ahead, shoot it repeatadly to make it switch over, giving you access to the
'bonus' area. Here you can shoot tons of turtles easily on your screen for
LOTS and LOTS of points, and you shouldn't get hit too badly either. Jump
over the water when you get there, and proceed onward with the onslaut of
shots. Soon you will face the Hammer Brother mini-boss. To defeat him is
really easy, just pelt him with continual firepower for about 4 seconds and
he's gone. Quickly get the 2 items boxes that will appear, and then you face
the Boss of the world.
***************************************************************************
BOSS: Iggy Koopa Difficulty: 1.0
I sure hope you don't lose here, or you suck! He is made up of two phases,
which are both really easy - they are:
Phase One - He will hop around a bit, fire a few shots now and then, and
that's about it. Shoot him in the head, and his contraption with explode
soon enough.
Phase Two - Now he has a 'shield', as he will often duck down, while repeating
what he did in phase one. Simply target a bit lower, and blast away. Would
you like regular, or extra crispy koopa with that?
Reward: Red Crystal\Gem
***************************************************************************
Your reward is the Red Gem, which is the first of 12, now it's onto Choco
Mountain!
- - - World Two: Choco Mountain <Purple Gem> - - -
This is just more of the same in level two, only a bit easier in my not so
humble opinion. There are way more koopas here, which are much easier to
hit than goombas. This time, take the left route on the gated area, and blast
away the turtle SHELLS on the ground, not too hard. You'll face more koopas,
and more goombas, which i can't give any advice on because, they are just too
easy. You'll come upon a mushroom in a item box at the end, which will restore
plenty of life, then it's a 1-on-1 fight against the boss of this world - Roy.
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Roy Difficulty: 2.5
Although easy, this boss is my favorite as it's style reminds me a bit of
the N64 bosses. Roy is made up of three stages, and each is progressivly
harder to beat, just a bit anyway.
Phase 1 - You'll need to blast the pink orb on his back whenever you have a
view of it. This takes time, but is not hard.
Phase 2 - Probably the quickest phase - roy will have 2 'punching gloves'
attatched to his robot-like vehicle. Blast them off one at a time, and it's
onto the final phase.
Phase 3 - Roy will fire shots from a cannon low on the robot. Fire away at
it when it opens, this takes a while, and for some reason, does not register
as hits some of the time. Not too hard at all though, but fun.
Reward: Purple Crystal\Gem
**************************************************************************
Your now have the Purple Gem, and 2 of 12! Onward to Mushroom Valley.
- - - World Three: Mushroom Valley <Light Blue Gem> - - -
This is very easy, basically a replica of the first world, with more koopas
than goombas. Take a right at the two gates, jump over the water, and you'll
face another Hammer Brother Mini-Boss. This one is probably even easier, so
just keep firing until it dies. Grab the two power-ups from the item cubes,
and it's onto the boss of the world!
**************************************************************************
BOSS: ??? Difficulty: 3.5
Yes, i do forget her name, but that's not important. Three hits is all it
takes to kill this boss, and she only has one stage. However, a hit is very
hard to come by as 3/4 of it is luck. A giant anvil witll float around VERY
slowly at the top of the screen, while she appears out of pipes. Her only
attack are bombs, which can be easily shot, the anvil also fires, but can
usally be avoided as well. Now that you know how to defend yourself, let's
get on with how to kill her! When the anvil is above her, simply blast it and
it will fall down, crushing her. Do this 3 times to win. That has to hurt...
Reward: Light Blue Crystal\Gem
**************************************************************************
Now that you have 1/4 of all the gems, you are ready for the water!
- - - World Four: Koopa Troopa beach <Diamond Crystal> - - -
This is really fun. You start out on the beach, against small chomps, a
few goombas, and a LONG stretch of turtles. Try not to get hit as you will
fall into the lake and lose 3 coins each time. Soon enough you will fall into
the lake at the end, and go underwater. Here, you only have to fight one
type of enemy, fish. Really easy, also, take the right route in the fork.
You'll face a octopus mini-boss as well, fire repeatadly and MOST of the
small octopi will die, when they get close, quickly disperse of them and
continue your assult on the octopus. Shouldn't take too long...then you'll
get a few item blocks, and it's onto the boss of level 4 - lemmy!
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Lemmy Koopa Difficulty: .5
This is really sad, easiest boss in the game, on level 4? Oh well, here is
a not-so-needed walkthrough for this sad aquatic fool.
Phase One - You will see a mechanical wheel roll back and forth. Simply
shoot it to bits and your done. It never took me more than 6 seconds to
clear this phase so i don't even know if he attacks.
Phase Two - Same thing, only now you can see Lemmy. Just shoot him, and he'll
be gone in about 17 seconds. Again, i do not believe he attacks in this stage.
Reward: Diamond Crystal
**************************************************************************
Now that you've recieved your not-so-well-earned gem, you need 8 more to go,
as the game says. Proceed to Donut Plains.
- - - World Five: Donut Plains <Green Gem> - - -
This is probably the easiest level in the game as far as killing enemies is
concerned. You'll face Goombas, Koopas, and strange Green things in the air,
while you battle mini-pihranas, and Bomb-Ombs on the ground. Pretty simple
as there are no Gates to decide between, the only special features are the
levels 4-5 jumps, which are easy. About 3/4 of the way you will fight yet
another Hammer Brother. Like the others, he's easy, and quick to beat. Get
the few item blocks that appear afterword, make one final jump, and it's time
for another boss - this time it's Ludwig Von Koopa.
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Ludwig Von Koopa Difficulty: 1.5
While long (for this game at least), this battle is easy. First you will
face what seems to be a frog, and then your true enemy will be revealed.
He doesn't attack much, so it's pretty easy to sruvive, and even easier to
kill. And here is the strategy...
Phase 1 - The 'Frog' will sit there for a bit, hopping around, fire at his
guns on the left and right sides, he'll fire them soon enough. When they are
destroyed, we move on to phase two.
Phase 2 - The final phase, here you need to hit Ludwig over and over again
until he dies. Pretty simple, don't you think?
Reward: Green Gem\Crystal
**************************************************************************
Now that you have 5 out of 12 gems, lets move onto the bridge!
- - - World Six: The Bridge <White Gem> - - -
Rather short if you ask me, and <gasp>, there is no mini-boss! The first
half of the level plays host tomy favorite enemies, the Koopa Troopas,
which are easily killed for a ton of points. Turn right at the gate, and
make the long jumps with ease. The second half of the level, is filled
with goombas, squids, and other annoying pests which are taken down just
a bit slower than the koopas. When you reach the end, you will be faced
with Lemmy again, he just doesn't quit does he?
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Squid\Lemmy Difficulty: 2.0
Here's an interesting koopa boss. You fight an actual squid through 2 fun
phases, not even catching a glimpse of Lemmy. Only when the squid explodes,
do you find lemmy in the wreckage. Oh well...on with the help.
Phase 1 - Pretty simple. Tentacles on the left, and right side. Focus in
on one side, and fire as fast as you can.
Reward: White Gem\Crystal
**************************************************************************
Your one step closer to winning now that you have 6 gems. Onto the ever-
dangerous Koopa Castle!
- - - World Seven: Koopa Castle <Pink Gem> - - -
This is really easy, so easy i need not explain. There is a gate here,
however, take the right route if you want my advice on that matter. As far
as the enemies - you'll fight LOTS of koopas, goobas, weird green dudes,
and a few other foes. There is no mini-boss, so make all the jumps you'll
encounter and you'll find the final boss for this map - Morton!
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Morton Koopa Difficulty: 4.0
This is pretty fun, and maybe a bit hard. There are 2 phases, and if you
can win this battle, have only 5 more gems to go!
Phase 1 - First shoot the two targets on the left and right. This can be
hard the first time, as he flies a bit erraticly. Then target the lower
area, and fire away until Morton is revealed.
Phase 2 - Shoot morton as he pops up and appears. This goes MUCH quicker
than phase 1 - thankfully.
Reward: Pink
**************************************************************************
Now your more than halfway done, it only gets harder from here on, now that
you have the Pink Gem! Onto The Dark World...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
VI. Help Guide - The Dark World
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, before we start, i'll mention that this game DOES use the super scope,
so learn the controls, put the zapper 1 inch from the screen, as i always
do :) Also note that this part of the guide focuses on The Dark World.
- - - World Eight: Dark Woods <Greeen Emerald> - - -
I'm not even going to go into detail about the level, as all it is is lava
pits to jump, and 5 different kinds of baddies to blast. I will, however,
say that the Mini-Boss AND boss of this level is REALLY hard, for a game
such as this anyway. The mini-boss is the hardest yet, and harder than most
BOSSES you've faced. It is a series of 7 blue fireballs forming a fire chain.
It dies one flame at a time, so it obviously is harder to hit as you go along.
Take advantage of the first 10 seconds, as you are free to attack and don't get
hit. After that, it's pretty hard. Soon afterward, you'll come upon the first
boss that isn't a koopa kid - this time it's Magikoopa!
***************************************************************************
BOSS: Magikoopa Difficulty: 5.0
How to kill this guy is simple. Actually doing it is pretty hard. His only
attack is a wand attack where some weird thing circles at you and does a
bit of damage unless you bombard it with firepower. He has two stages, and
let me tell you - stage two is HARD.
Phase One - He'll appear, do his wand attack, and dissapear, hit him some
time during this sequence, and then destroy his attack if you can. After
about 45 seconds of that, it's onto Phase Two.
Phase Two - He does the same EXACT thing this time, only faster, and he's
about 6 times bigger than he was before, which does make a difference. Use
the same strategy outlined above, and if you can keep a steady string of
fire-power for about a minute and a half, he will finally die! Was that the
hardest boss in this game? You'll find out soon enough....
Reward: Green Emerald
***************************************************************************
- - - World Nine: Haunted Bridge <Unknown> - - -
~Not Availible At This Time~
- - - World Ten: Koopa Castle Two <Yellow Crystal> - - -
There isn't much to this level, except one part, so i'll explain that in
detail and leave the baddie bashing to you. Take the RIGHT route at the
gate and soon you'll find a hammer brother. He is easy, as always, however,
he will leave a item block! It is CRUCIAL that you COLLECT the ITEM inside,
which is a superstar and will be helpful for the BOSS. After that, it's more
baddie blasting, easy enough. Soon you'll meet the stupidest boss in the
game - Chargin' Chuck.
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Chargin' Chuck
This is EASY! Just use the star, and fire away. Before the star wears off,
you should have allready killed chuck! Wasn't that...fun?
Reward: Yellow Crystal
**************************************************************************
Was that easy or what? Take your newly found Yellow Gem, and the rest of
them along with you to the second to last world - Koopa Beach 2!
- - - World Eleven: Koopa Troopa Beach 2 <Yellow Gem> - - -
This level is just like the first one, only 3 times and long, and no
underwater area. The enemies are koopas, mini-pihrana's, and fish. With
that said, all that is left is the boss strategy.
**************************************************************************
BOSS: Koopa Troopa Difficulty: 1.0
Yes, a single, normal Koopa! But this guy has a LOT of health. He has two
stages, but his attacks suck. So it's only a matter of time before he dies.
Phase One - He will fire orbs at you JUST below where he is sitting. You can
destroy both the orbs and him if you position your zapper correctly! After
a while of this - it's the final phase.
Phase Two - MUCH quicker. Jsut focus in on the mechanical turtle's head,
and have fun making Roasted Turtle. If you want the recipe, contact me.
Reward: Yellow Gem\Crystal
**************************************************************************
Wow, a weird looking stone, AND your at the final level in the game!
