The zip gun is weaker than the Beretta. It is given to you by Glutman if you dont have the Beretta when he takes you to the caryards.

statusYou get the Zip Gun if you talk to Grinder and do not have any weapon in your inventory (just before you go to the car yards for the first time). In order to be unarmed at that point, you must either sell the Beretta to the shady business man or give it to a hired Shadowrunner. Be warned that the Zip Gun is less accurate than the Beretta and just as powerful, so it is a downgrade.
Correction: Glutman, not Grinder.
