"Not as good as the Gensis version but it will do"
Super Aleste or Super Mega Force (as it is known in America) is probably one of the best shooters of it's time. Made by Toho in 1992. This game is a very good shooter. It has most of the tings most people would expect from a shooter. The story line is this: you are a pilot who has to defend Earth from a monster from outer space who seems to live in side of an organism(spoiler -->) because at the last stage you fight cells of some type of being before fighting him.
Game play 10/10: The game play is a side scrolling /shooter that goes from bottom to top. It is a one hit death type of game. There are eight different weapons that you can use. They are: the spread shot, the laser, the shield shot, the multi direction shot, the homing missile shot, the charge up beam shot, the little green balls shot, and the metal spreading shot. These eight weapons each have two or more forms and can be powered up to level six. Also like most shooters you have bombs that you can use in the game. In the game there are also many secrets that have power ups, extra life, and extra bombs.
Controls 8/10 : The controls for the game are: the B button is to shoot. The X button is change the form of the weapon, and the A button is to use bombs. The D-pad is to move and the start button is start the game and to pause during the game.
Music 10/10: The music for game is probably the best part of the game. Each tune is well made well played
Length 7/10: The game has twelve stages to it and each stage is kind of long. So in general I would say it's a long game. However at most it should take like two to three hours to beat.
Overall this game is actually a very good game. If you own a Super Nintendo, this game should be in collection because its probably the best shooter for the Super Nintendo through not as good as it's Genesis counter part.
