"Worst Video Game EVER!"

In my opinion, Captain Novolin is one of the worst SNES games ever. It's supposed to educate kids about diabetes but it's doing more discrimination against food than educating. The developers thought "Since kids like video games and superheroes. If we educate them, it will sell big" WRONG! Captain Novolin is the weakest superhero ever. He's no Batman or Superman, but he's still pretty weak. Let's review the game.

Story: Some guys dressed up as sugary foods has stolen all of the diabetes testing supplies and it's up to the so-called hero Captain Novolin has to save the day within in the next 48 hours or the mayor of the city won't live much longer. Isn't that a great story or what? Story gets a 1/10.

Graphics: Normally I don't bash graphics but this is where I make an exception. This is the SNES but this looks more like a NES game. Captain Novolin looks very goofy, the way he looks make Ronald McDonald look better. The colors are so ugly it makes you want to throw up. The backgrounds are also NES quality. Graphics gets a 1/10

Sound/Music: This music in this game is very repetitive. All you hear is the same darn tune over and over again and it loops like every 45 seconds. The sounds in this game is not better either because all you hear is basically like 3 or 4 sounds in the game. Mute this if you plan on playing it. Sound/Music gets a 1/10

Control: Terrible. Captain Novolin can barely jump correctly and he usually run into enemies. Captain Novolin also moves very slow. Control gets a 1/10.

Game Play: This is what kills the "game" the most. The controls have a huge effect on the game play. Captain Novolin has to go to the Mayor's but there are sugary foods that holds him back. The game also has facts about diabetes but I haven't learned a thing from playing this. I think my IQ has dropped a few points from playing this. Captain Novolin can't eat too much food or he will pass out. Poor game play. Game Play gets a 1/10.

Fun Factor: This "game" is not supposed to be fun. Educational games are rarely fun in my opinion.

Challenge: Extreme, it's hard to get Captain Novolin out of the first few levels without dying. You get no continues either, so that's what makes it even harder.

Replay Value: I would never, ever play this game again even if someone played me paid me a million dollars. They should pay us to play this game.

Buy/Rent/Avoid: This is a pretty obscure game so it'll be hard to find it. But if you do, don't buy it! Avoid this "game" at all times.

Final Total: A one!

Conclusion: This is a pretty bad game. You won't find any enjoyment in this game. Parents, don't buy this for your children. They won't learn anything about diabetes here. If you want to learn about diabetes, look it up on the internet or buy them a book. Just buy them a better video game for the SNES like Super Mario World.
