Strike Gunner: S.T.G.

"Strike Gunner, the underrated shooter."

If your interested in this game, (And you probably are if your reading this) then you should know that this game is great. And if you like shooters, then

you'll want this game. Though it's kinda hard to find nowadays, it's worth it for this.
Enough of this and on to the review!

GAMEPLAY: 10/10
Of course, here is the gameplay, obviously the most important part of the game. First of all if you know what a shooter game is, then you probably now how
they work. You fly around a vertical screen and you shoot up tanks, helicopters, and later, alien ships. But here's the cool thing, you have 15 different'special weapons' that you can use in a level. Though you need to be careful because you can only use a weapon in one level. Among the choices are weapons like the Auto-Aim Vulcan which, as you guessed, auto-aim at enemies. Or the Laser Cannon, which fires long lasers that destroys any enemy in your path. Or the Megabeam Cannon, which one hit KO's any enemy including bosses. But you need to watch your special power bar, which decreases as you use your weapons, weapons like the Anti-Air Mine don't drain much, but the Megabeam Cannon can be used only once. But, in levels a friendly aircraft will appear and give you power-ups, either increasing your main weapon, special power bar, or speeding you up. All in all, this game is very fun.

And also I forgot to mention that this game is two players, so if you have a friend to play with you, this game can be twice the fun, and with twice the weapons. Also, on two players, you can combine both your fighters to form a double fighter, by combining either on top or side-by-side. One player will control the ship and shoot the main gun and use their special weapons, while the other uses a new special weapon for each of the two different set-ups.

GRAPHICS: 8/10
The graphics in the game are great, with many different locales, ranging from a desert to an alien mothership. the design of many of the alien ships are quite well done and unlike others I have seen before. The design of your fighter looks great as well. This game may not make you say "WOW!" or anything, but it's certainly nothing to bark at either.

SOUND/MUSIC: 8/10
Personally, I love this music for this game, awesome tunes. And the sounds are awesome as well. (I love the sound that the Megabeam Cannon makes.) So you'll enjoy playing this game even more with the excellent audio. This is one game where you won't be putting your TV on mute.

REPLAY VALUE: 7/10
This is just one of those games that's fun to put in and play with for awhile. Especially if you have a second player. This game you could play for a long time, because it's hard to get tired of it.

OVERALL: 9/10
This game is very good, and earns a place in your SNES collection. Should you find this game anywhere, be sure to buy it!
