The Ren & Stimpy Show: Fire Dogs
Review by ssjlumanus
"These are the Firefighters or in this case Firedogs you can't depend."
Let's face it, Ren and Stimpy games are not known for their enjoyments, and this game is no exception. Repetitive, frustrating, and ugly are the words to describe this game. Just about everything in this game is bad and the only few good things about this game is average at best.
Game play: The game's levels are broken down into 2 parts, the Fire House and the Streets. In the Fire House you have to collect items to put on the fire truck like fire hats, fire coats, and others. This is basically to get you ready for the second part of a level. If this screams repetitive to you, then you are right. Sure all plat formers use the system of collecting items, but many of them do it in a unique way. This game throws you into a poorly design maze with little, and ridiculous I might add, power ups. Plus on top of that you have little time to accomplish this task (just a little over 2 minutes). The second part is no better. Ren and Stimpy are now on the streets and they have to use a trampoline to catch random stuff falling from buildings. Basically you have to fill up a meter, which fills up after catching a number of objects. This level gives you 5 minutes to complete this task. Even this is not enough time because the bar fills up slowly and drops when you miss items. This makes the level seem longer than it should, which you really don't want given to the repetitive nature of this part.
Controls: Ugly. Stimpy, during the Fire House part, moves slow and unresponsively. Trying to go up stairs is a nightmare. The controls for the streets are weak as well. Ren and Stimpy move too slow normally and too fast while using the run button.
Visual: The visual are alright. The characters are nice looking, but the levels themselves are not that impressive.
Sound: One word: UGLY.
Conclusion: Stay away from this game at all cost. Even if you are a Ren and Stimpy fan, the only thing you will get out of this game is frustration and a possibly broken controller.
