Harvest Moon
Review by Sebbisismo
"Great idea. Could have been better."
Ok! This game is really fun when you start it out, but after a while you really wonder, "Why the heck am I playing this?!" This is a play-through-it-once-just-for-bragging-rights kinda game. You'll really enjoy yourself for the first day or two (in real life) but it gets old REALLY fast.
Graphics 7/10
The graphics on this game are good, there are almost none of those creepy stick your head in a wall or not see yourself kinda things. Compared to regular old SNES games these score a bit higher than average. You won't have to look away and shield your eyes after playing for 2 hours because looking at this has got to be good for your health or something.
Sound 6/10
Not bad, Not bad. Not too shabby. Not too great either. This game has definitely got some catchy tunes but as it stands, there are many games with better sound tracks. You won't see much other than music and what happens when you pick up a rock but that's almost what it is in every game right?
Game Play 8/10
The game play for this game is pretty good. It definitely could be better though. Like I mentioned earlier this game is pretty fun the first go around but it gets real old real fast. Very unique idea for a game but could have been done better.
Game Time 6/10
The thing with this game is no matter how fast or how good you are it will always take a long time to beat it. The main reason being that you have to wait for your crops to grow every time you plant them, which is lame because you have to plant tons of them to make a living. I guess this is where the saying came "Watching the grass grow." Eh? Eh? Enjoy my joke?
Game Difficulty 7/10
This game is really easy once you get the hang of it and understand what you have to do. If you have absolutely no idea what you're doing, though, you'll have lost within the first season or two. Play through it once, understand it, lose, go back through it, and own it like your backyard. That's my advice.
Replay Value 7/10
You really wouldn't want to play through this again within the next 5 years that you beat it, unless you're a farmer at heart who enjoys simulated crop growing and animal raising. But if you're not that then I would really suggest finding a different game with a bit more action to it, not that farming is boring or anything, though.
IN CONCLUSION!
My final paragraph shall be chock-full of saying what I was blabbering about earlier, just summed up a bit, and put in some sort of order.
1. Great game for a bit, then boring.
2. Above average graphics, sounds, game play, and game time.
3. Free marriage choices.
4. Fuzzy animals throughout the whole game. (Didn't I mention that earlier?)
Once again if you liked my review then this was Sebbisismo!
If you didn't my name is Bob, and and I'm a cowboy!
