Dragon Ball Z Super Butouden 3
Review by 123kiddo
"Disappointing game..."
This game is pretty disappointing...DBZ Super Butouden 2 was awesome, especially with the story mode, but DBZ Super Butouden 3 is kind of lame when compared to its predecessor. Why? Well, let's find out...
GRAPHICS - 7
Well, the character sprites are good, but the stages are pretty much the same thing over and over, except that there's like 2 or 3 different versions of each. The intro of this game is awesome, though.
GAME PLAY - 6
This is what's disappointing about this game. It's gameplay is inferior to the previous game in stupid ways. For example, let's say you're on the ground, but your opponent is flying. You shoot a ki blast, and it doesn't go diagonally to where the opponent is! Why? Also, there's no story or some sort of arcade mode on this. What was Bandai thinking?! Of all the things that they screwed up, this is the worst. And also, why are Supreme Kai and Android 18 in this game? I've never seen them fight in the saga this is based on (which is the Buu saga). There's only 9 characters and 1 secret character in this game. The secret character is...Future Trunks. Why Trunks of all people? Not that I don't like him, but I thought this was based on the Buu saga, not the Android saga. However, there still is the ki blast struggle battle. If you haven't play Super Butoden 2, well let me explain how the struggle battle works. It's simple. Let's say your opponent throws a super ki blast at you, and you counter it with your own super ki blast. Both of them clash together, and whoever presses the A button 50 times (or whatever amount of times you're supposed to mash the A button) first, wins the struggle battle and your super ki blast hits your opponent. Pretty cool, but really, that's the only charm the game has since there's no story mode. However, the control and difficulty are still as good as they should be.
SOUND - 7
Pretty good music and sound effects, but it's the same thing as the previous game. That doesn't stop the sound from being good, though.
RE-PLAYABILITY - 5
Hopefully, you really like normal, one-round vs. battles, because that's all you've got in this game. The tournament mode takes only about half an hour to beat.
OVERALL - 6.25/10
If you want to play this, borrow it from a friend, because this game's not worth buying, unless you're a DBZ fan.
