RoboCop Versus The Terminator

Robocop Vs. The Terminator. That's right folks, something is very wrong here and who would have ever imagined that the heroic fuzz cyborg would actually become the one to turn everything upside down for the world of the Terminator. RoboCop Vs. The Terminator is actually a game based on a comic book of the same title in which the technology used to create RoboCop is what Skynet uses to take care of business in the not-so distant future. RoboCop finds out about all of this and throughout the comic and this game, he fights to take down crime as well as the Skynet and terminators sent out to destroy him for what he does in the future.
In RoboCop Vs. Terminator, you won't actually be playing as Ahnold, and in fact, he's not even a part of this game despite the title. You will play the game entirely as RoboCop as you end up repeating time once again when Skynet tricks RoboCop and he is forced to rebuild himself through their system and take the system down. The story is quite neat for putting the two worlds together and the whole concept came very close to a movie deal in 1995. So if you are a fan of Dark Horse comics, then this game is very close to it in the story line.
The game play is 2-D and is alright. Some problems are that the enemies will respawn as and you will have to do plenty of platform jumping which is not as great when you are playing a very heavy cyborg like RoboCop. There are plenty of advantages to being the most hardcore cop of them all next to Bruce Willis as John McClane. You get unlimited ammo with the Auto 9 handgun that RoboCop packs. There are also a lot of upgrades and new weapons to pick up and use and you can also switch between the two. Oh yeah, plenty of enemies.
The graphics and sound are fair. This is a comic book game, so the plot unfolds through story boards and they adequately tell you what is going on. The atmosphere of the game is dark so there is not much color and not too much to look at in this game.
Final Recommendation 6/10
You have to be a fan of comics or RoboCop or both to want to get this game at this point in the game of gaming otherwise you may be disappointed with another 2-D platformer. There is not much I do not like about this game and for what it is it does not stand out from other great platformers.
