WWF Super Wrestlemania
Review by j.j.
"The First WWF Game On The SNES..."
This game was on a used rack somewhere, so I thought ''Hey, why not try it??'' Well what I have to say is there are better games for the SNES, and especially for wrestling titles. I have WWF RAW, WWF ROYAL RUMBLE, so why not add WWF SUPER WRESTLEMANIA to my collection?? That might not have been such a good choice. When you turn it on, it has the LGN little logo, then the copyright stuff etc, comes up. The title screen has HULK HOGAN on it and the titie WWF SUPER WRESTLEMANIA comes up. On with the review...

It was pretty good, and if you were reviewing the game as if it just came out, it was pretty good. All of the wrestlers look like they're real-life counterparts and everything. The game consists of Hulk Hogan, the Undertaker, Hawk, Animal Sid Justice (Now Sid Vicious) Earthquake, Typhoon, Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, and Jake ''The Snake'' Roberts.
Sound:5
There wasn't too much sound, except for the title screen, and the wrestlers theme music in which you could listen to when selecting them which I might add was done quite well for the time that this game was released in. Other than that, there's not too much at all except if you count the wrestlers grunts and groans as one beats down the other.
Gameplay:5
Every wrestler has EXACTLY the same move set as the next. There are no specials in the game onesoever!!. When I first got the game to tell you the truth, I was trying to figure out the controls for the specials because it was a used game and didn't come with any books, until I realized that there were none. That was sort of a dissapointment, but then again I realized that this was the WWF's first wrestling game to come out for the SNES. The way you perform the moves is basicly using button-mashing. You have a grapple meter, which tells in the tie-up who's winning, and then you have to mash buttons to win. There are also no steel chairs or weapons outside of the rind either.
Modes:3
In WWF SUPER WRESTLEMANIA there is a one-on-one mode, tag team mode, and a survivor series mode. No championship modes or squat. Now THAT was a dissapointment.
Replay Value:1
You don't really need to go back to the game, because there really isn't anything to go back for. You might want to have a survivor series match or something, or a match with your friend, but that's about it. If you're playing by yourself, you'll get bored in about an hour, toss the game in the closed and never play it again, or very rarely at that. With a friend, you might be content for a while longer, but not that much longer. If you want a wrestling game, I suggest renting WWF RAW, and if you can't get that, get WWF ROYAL RUMBLE.

Buy Or Rent:Definately a rent. You rent it, play it for a few hours, and then ship it back the next day. It's not really even worth a rental unless you want to see what video games used to be like.
