Lufia & the Fortress of Doom
Review by Vegetaman
"This game is breathtaking!"
Lufia is a perfect game, and here's why it earned a perfect 10!:
Gameplay: 10/10
The controls are as easy as pie! Use the pad to select between fight, attack, magic, defense, and run. As far as RPG go, it's a masterpiece! Never has a game quite like this (Except Lufia II) been made. It is apparent how much time and effort went into making this game. The game can be either easy or hard. It all depends if you like to run through at low levels, or you like to gain bunches of Levels. There are also many hidden things that can help you with your quest. One of these things is the DRAGON EGGS. There are 3 sets of 8. There is a Dragon Shrine that you take all 8 of one set to get a reward. After the 3rd set, you can get nothing more from the Egg Dragon at the Egg Shrine, which is a bummer because the best stuff can be found at the Dragon Shrine!
Story: 10/10
The story is complex, but if you pay attention it will become clear. It starts out as you being the original 4 who killed the sinistralls (Lufia II is about them, as its story is 100 years before this one). They are: Maxim, Guy, Selan, and Artea. After you fight your way to the Sinistralls chamber, you fight the 4 Sinistralls one by one: Gades, Amon, Erim, and Daos. After you beat them, a scene takes place between your 4 characters. You'll have to beat that to find out who dies and who lives. Next more story appears, and you are the Hero, and Alekian knight with the blood of Maxim running in your veins. You have a mysterious girl friend Lufia, and you are both about 15-17 years old. From here you will travel all over the world to find mysterious people, go to strange places, and fight the ever growing monster attacks. You'll be amazed at who is behind it all!
Audio/Video: 10/10
The music in this game is some of the best music ever composed. The sound effects are even better. From the swoosh of a sword to the bang of a magic attack, it doesn't get much better than this! The graphics are awesome, and never glitch. There are more places to go overworld and in caves and other places, and more treasure chests to open and hidden things to find than there are words in this review. You can never be sure if you found everything until the end. Even then, you'll be amazed at all the stuff you've left behind!
Replayabitity: Yes!
From the moment you start you will want to play this game again and again. Guaranteed that you will never put this game down! It is like a magnet. You always want to put it in your SNES, and play it again. Don't resist, play it again... and again and again! You'll never stop liking this game!
To buy/rent: Yes!
Lufia is a hard game to come by these days, and Lufia II even harder. $20 is a cheap price for it! Definitely a game to buy!
Glitches/problems: No!
Lufia has no glitches or problems in it at all. Never once will it freeze. There are NO glitches in Lufia and the Fortress of Doom! No problems with it either!
Verdict: A must have/must play! 10/10
If you want some fun, or want an excellent RPG, then Lufia is the choice for you! It may be expensive, but it's worth the price!
Don't delay, play today!
