Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

"As good as its prequel? yeah baby!"

I played Super Star Wars and absolutely loved it. After looking for Super Empire Strikes Back for a while I found it just after Christmas a couple years ago and bought it. I played it for quite a while. Here's what I think.
Control/gameplay 10-10. Once you figure it out it's easy to remember. I died a lot, but this ain't no easy game. The cool part is that if ya don't like how the controls are set up ya can change 'em!
Audio 10-10. The SFX were really good here, especially the monster noises. My favorite is the sound of the Light Saber activating and being swung. The actor who did Vader's voice in the game was not James Earl Jones, but he did get the job done well. Vader sounds as menacing in the game as he did in the movie. There's even clips of Yoda in there! When you die for the last time and the game over screen comes up you get the usual Retry Yes or No screen. If you choose Yes Yoda will respond with the classic line, ''Do or do not. There is no try.'' If you choose not to Try Again he will say, ''That is why you fail.'' Great job there. As in the first game, the music's all from the movies, and I take great pleasure when I hear the great Imperial March theme. And the cool part, they didn't change that wonderfully evil tune at all except to convert it to whatever audio format the SNES uses, which I believe is MIDI format.
Story 10-10. They didn't change the story much, although you will not see Luke Skywalker get his hand chopped off in the game, (if you've never seen the movie I advise doing so). You do get to face Darth Vader though, and he is very hard to defeat.
Challenge 10-10. The game is not easy, let's just say that. You get to face many bosses, and on the Hoth levels not only do you have the monsters working against you, but the cold also drains your life meter down, so if you don't keep moving you will die. Then there's your usual watch your step or you'll fall off a cliff type chalenges. This game is full of them. Bosses will also give you trouble, especially when you finally reach the final battle with Darth Vader. Fortunately the game uses a password system, so ya can start at the level ya died in!
overall 10-10. If you can find it, buy it or rent it. It's worth it if you're a star wars person like me. I can guarantee that. You couldn't find enough money in this world to pay me for my copy of this game. I just loved it!
