Street Combat

"Good grief"

I've played some crap fighting games in my life but it is to safe to say that Street Combat is the worst fighting game I have come across(not to mention the worst SNES game). I can see for myself that no one on GameFAQS has not reviewed this stinker of a game yet but I guess I should be the one to tell you how horrible it is. Lets move on shall we.

Gameplay
You pick one out of two characters(only two?)as you fight six opponents which include a shirtless weirdo,a clown with two sticks,an army guy with a sword, a robot on a skateboard,a ninja woman,and finally some guy who bares a striking resemblance to Daredevil from Marvel Comics. The game is very simplistic and it plays like garbage I mean I kept doing jump kicks or my short range special move and I won many matches just by doing those two. Also it takes so long to start up a match for some reason because you have to wait almost 10 seconds for the word fight to appear on the screen to start playing. In short the gameplay is haggard.

Graphics
For a second there I thought I was playing on an old Atari 2600. The fighters look small and very plain. The backrounds are even worse they don't show any animation with the exception of this one stage that had a flowing waterfall. I don't know who was the genius that did the in game graphics but I can tell he didn't do a good job.

Sound
The game is on a 16 bit system yet the music sounds like it was on an 8 bit one. The character voices mostly come down to just simple Owwws and Arrrghs. The sound is bad and if your like me you would turn down the volume on the television set before it drives you insane.

Control
What did I ever do to deserve this? The control is horrid I mean it was bad enough to press a separate button to block but why do I also need to press a different button to jump. To add insult to injury there is also yet another button which does your special move. Maybe these controls could work in a go anywhere type of game like Power Stone but they don't work here.

Replay
The game is very short so playing this some more is out of the question. In fact I wouldn't be suprised if you just quit somewhere before the fourth level but hey who could blame you.

Final Word
Do not play this game at all. Trust me you will be in more pain by playing this then you ever will by say falling off a cliff. If you ever see this game anywhere then my suggestion is to run like hell and pray that will never experience the same anger that I have right now after playing this.
