Star Trek: The Next Generation
Review by Draco Knight
"I Really Wanted To Like This Game..."
I had really did not have high expectations for this game but I was let down all the same. You would think traveling around the galaxy in the Enterprise and confronting Romulan War Birds would be fun. Wrong. You will be attacked every five seconds and after bearly beating the last ship it is almost impossible to defeat this one. Well, on to the ratings.
Graphics: 8/10
The highest attribute to the game. You can beam to planets or stay in the Enterprise and the graphics will still be pretty decent.Inside the ship looks pretty good as do the people. But when games such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, and Seiken Denstusu exist for the same platform then this game really has no room to compete.
Control: 4/10
Nothing special here. When you are in battle position the controls are the unclassic Up=Down and vice versa. It gets extremely boring after a while. This is defiantly one of the aspects that hacked the potential of this game.
Gameplay: 7/10
Not too bad. Inside the Enterprise there is a computer in which you can access an extensive amount of information such as info on how to deal with a Bird of Prey to accessing fellow crew mates profiles. Also, in certain parts of the game you will be able to beam down to planets where you can shoot Romulans which make this game that much more ''fun.''
Sound/Music: 5/10
There is really no sound but when there is sound it is absolutely horrid. Every time you are encountered by an enemy this ear wrenching buzzer goes off. Not too bad but when you have to put up with it for an hour you start to become urged to hurl this across the room. Just hot the mute button to ignore this.
Story: 5/10
Just like in the T.V series. You are given orders by an admiral and you must travel to planets and fulfill them. Not too bad but not too good.
Overall: 5/10 (Not an average)
Just stay away from this like the plaugue. With bad music, gameplay and mediocre everything else you should avoid this. Perhaps worth an hour of your precious life.
