"I found this game for two bucks..................."
Game Play-10/10
This game was the fist game ever to introduce one-on-one fighting with special moves. There are eight playable characters in this game; Blanka, Chun Li, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, Ken, Ryu, and Zangief. Each one has special moves to execute. Whether it is a combination of buttons, or holding down a button for a few seconds, the moves are there. There are three different strengths of punches, and three different strengths of kicks, jumping, and blocking.
Control-8/10
Usually I don't review the control of a game, but this is a 2-D arcade translation, and usually I do that for these games. The control of the Super Nintendo versions of Street Fighter II are much better than the controls of the Genesis versions of Street Fighter II. The reason why is obvious. The Super Nintendo controller has eight buttons, while the Genesis controller has four, and on the Genesis controller you had to press Start to switch from punches to kicks. And the D-pad on the Super Nintendo controller is good.
Music-10/10
The music in Street Fighter II will always be classic, from at least one version and platform of the game. My favorite theme from this version of Street Fighter II would be Ken's theme.
Sound Effects-10/10
The sound effects of Street Fighter II are great. You have grunting sounds, pounding sounds, punching sounds, kicking sounds, and the talking sounds. Not really talking, just the sound they make when some of them pull of a special move.
Graphics-10/10
The graphics in Street Fighter II will always be classic. I tend to like these graphics better than the graphics in the newer Street Fighters. Those graphics look more animated.
Fun-10/10
When Super Street Fighter II first came out on the Super Nintendo, I had a lot of fun, but then forgot about it. (I had Tekken 2!) I then sold it, but then I found a version of Super Street Fighter II on the Genesis. I had a lot of fun with this version too. But only because it is a classic.
Overall 9/10 (Not an average)
This game is pretty common used, so if you find it extremely cheap, I suggest you get it. I am pretty sure that you will have a lot of fun with it too. As I have said many times before, it is a classic.
