"Another great RPG for Super Nintendo!"

The Super Nintendo has been out for ages now, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't buy an old machine, and a collection of old, classic games. Lufia is another reason for you to raid the bargain bin at stores.

Story - 10 : Ready to fight in the final battle, Maxim and three of his friends are scaling the fortress of doom, the path is long, but the hero's fight hard against the four evil foes. They win in a long battle against the evil, but when Selan is injured and can't move, Maxim refuses to escape with his other two friends. 100 years later, a young, brave boy hears of monsters returning to the world, and are attacking a neighbouring city. The boy rushes out to help.

In my opinion, this is a great storyline, and you keep asking yourself, what is going to happen next? There is a lot of suprises instore in Lufia, and great characters who you can actually think are real.

Graphics - 10 : The graphics push the Super Nintendo to its near limit, good detail, lightning effects and combat animation detail. This is not Final Fantasy X, so don't expect heavy detail and graphics, this is the Super Nintendo we are talking about, and Lufia has great graphics for the Super Nintendo. Moving on, we have the world map. Belive it or not, Lufia's world map is one of few world maps NOT to be sparse. Sparse means not much in it, like you see green for miles then see a castle in the middle of nowhere, not in Lufia however, there are tree's mountains and caves spooted all over the world map.

Sound and Music - 9 : Lufia does not lack music, cute tunes and music in the right places. The battle music is some of the best battle music music I have ever heard, and I aren't talking about the ''Blowing away'' boss battle music.

Gameplay - 9.5 : Lufia has got a nice control system, Well.. It is just you're typical RPG feild system for starters. The battle system is a bit like Breathe of Fire 3's, you choose a move like attack, run, magic or item in the similar way to Breathe of Fire 3. The characters whom can use magic gain magic by leveling up. The bad thing is, that there is too many random eccounters. You hear this in just about every RPG review, but I mean it, every few steps you are bond to get a random eccounter.

Replaybility - 9 : Being an RPG, Lufia has a good gaming hours. There are several challenges, like going in caves to find treasure (a sub quest). After you'll complete it, you'll most proberly want to give up some time to play it again. There are many sub quests, and plenty to explore, and the mysteries and gameplay will have you coming back for years to come.

Overall - 9 : A brilliant RPG for the Super Nintendo. This game is set AFTER Lufia 2, so you might want to play Lufia 2 first, but if not, this is a great RPG to start playing. BUY IT NOW!
