"Kiss your life goodbye...."

Tetris Attack. The 2 words that forever changed my life. The 2 words that seperated me from the outside world. The fast-paced, combo making, chain-forming puzzler has not only taken my life but others as well.Based on the original Panel de Pon, it has started the plague in Japan, all the way around the world. What is it about this game that kills people's social lives??

Gameplay: It's hard to say but let me start by saying this:
It has nothing to do with Tetris. Why Nintendo gave it that name, I don't know. As with a lot of puzzle games, there isn't much of a storyline but it seems to focus a lot around the cute little Yoshi. A lot of cameos from other Nintendo games are there too including a Shyguy, the thing that threw down the spiky things in super mario world, etc.
The main objective of the game is to get rid of as many blocks as possible by matching blocks of the same shape within them by moving them using the cursor. With that being said, you can create chains and combos, sending devastating garbage blocks to your opponent. Garbage blocks are result of your removed blocks to your opponent. The real heart of the game is 2 player. This is was separated me from the outside world. It's fun playing solo but even more fun playing 2 player. It's just downright hard to stop.

Graphics: IMO, graphics aren't that important, especially in puzzle games but i'll let you know anyways. Everything is extremely bright and colorful, suiting the Yoshi cute mood. It's a very happy game filled with cuteness. The overall resolution and theme may remind you of Super Mario World 1&2.

Sound- Music isn't that memorable, but like the graphics, it sets the mood. The sound effects are all that great either but it's good when defining a combo.

Replay Value- Extremely High. Hard to let go once you get the hang of it. It may get boring after a while, but once you get back on it, you won't stop.

Buy or Rent- Well, considering you can't rent any more SNES games, you can't rent, but even if you could, buy it without hesitation. It's the best two player puzzle game ever. You can't get any better than this. If you can't find the SNES version, try to locate the gameboy version, or the recent Pokemon Puzzle Leauge, and Challenge for N64, and GBC.
