ClayFighter 2: Judgement Clay
Review by ZeldaGuy
"Not Your Average Clay Fighters"
Clayfighter 2: Judgement Clay is the sequel to the original game Clayfighter. By the name you can obviously tell that there are fighters made out of clay beating each other into obliviation. This game is really not that bad. It is no Mortal Kombat with ''claytalities'' or anything, but it deserves some recognition for it's unique fighting style it delivers. Scoring is as followed:
GRAPHICS:7
Well, it is clay after all. The graphics are like a little cartoon but they are not that bad. All the fighters are very unique in their own way, and are very well done for being made out of clay. The backgrounds of the fighters levels are well done, and I have to say for clay these graphics were not bad at all.
SOUND:7
The sound is pretty good for the most part. Some of the fighters levels have some pretty catchy tunes to them and I enjoyed them for awhile. The music will stick in your head for a little while too. Bad thing about it is that is tends to get a tad annoying. Also the fighters say phrases when they do a special move. They get annoying too after awhile if you do a move a lot of times.
GAMEPLAY:7
Your typical fighting game. The fighters move with ease, buttons are typical in you press A you punch etc. Sometimes the movement is a tad sluggish but not bad for the most part. Learning curve is only about 10 minutes or so and you'll breeze right through the game on any difficulty with practice. Right is the middle here. It's not excellent but it's not bad either when it comes to gameplay.
STORY:6
A whole bunch of clay fighters are back for another tournament this time with some new fighters as well fighting for the crown on clay champion. Pretty much the story line for every fighting game, so it is an original one of course.
CHALLENGE:6
Depends on which setting you put it. It can be really easy, or fairly difficulty. Anyone can beat the game on any setting, you just need practice. The computer is fairly predictable and you just need to stick with one fighter for awhile and train with him to be the best with one fighter as you can. Try and beat the game with as many fighters as possible!
REPLAY:8
You will play the game again to get the secret fighters. If you beat the game on a high difficulty then you will be able to fight the alter ego of your fighter. Beat them, and you get them as a fighter now. You should try and get as many as possible, and many will try when they play this game, so they replay is rather high.
BUY/RENT:RENT
This is a game that is great for beginners new to fighting games. If you love Mortal Kombat, you will most likely not like this game because no blood, fatalities etc. This game deserves a rent if you consider buying it.
OVERALL:7
Like I said before, not too bad for a fighting game surprisingly. People new to fighting games would likely adore this game while veterans to Mortal Kombat will most likely hate it. Rent it, and see if clay fighting is right for you! I think it is a decent game, and deserves a little more recognition.
