Secret of the Stars

"It's about as enjoyable as going to the mortician"

My friend recommended this game to me. Now that I have played it, I will never listen to any of his suggestions ever again. This game is the stupidest, most boring RPG I have ever played. I can see someone playing this game, maybe even finishing it, but seeing someone enjoy it, is beyond me. With such awesome RPG's out there with killer plots and gameplay, how can you enjoy this lousy, lackluster game? If you told me this was your favorite game ever, I'd probably tell you to get your head examined.

The graphics are very bad. Thank you Tecmo for turning my SNES into an NES.

The music, even worse. Here, we have 30 second bleeps and bloops repeated over and over again. Great job Tecmo.

The game is so poorly written, that it seems Tecmo has hired a first grader to write it. For an example, in an early part in the game, you fight a boss named ''Bad Bad''. His minions that you fight are known as ''Badmen'' who look like mobsters. This made me laugh hysterically for about a half hour. At another early part in the game, you must unravel the mystery of why the population of a village was turned into dogs. Wow! that's exactly what I want to do in an RPG. You visit other towns too, such as ''Giant'' which is big, and ''Box town'' in which every villager loves boxing. You also fight enemies too, such as ''Gas slugs'', ''Cat Boo'' and ''Bad Bunny''.

As for the actual story, guy goes on quest to stop someone from destroying the world, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

As for characters, you have stupid ones that have no personality. Heck, I think that they only say maybe three words to you all game. “Sure, I’ll join you!”

This is just ridiculous. Why did they decide to do this? If you are going to make an RPG, make it appeal to the RPG gamer! Don't make a stupid one intended for six year old morons!

The actual gameplay itself is not too horrid, but who cares? The game's ridiculous plot is so atrocious, that you won't even care. The battle system is a standard turned based engine, with no surprises.

If you actually make it through this game, then you should obviously play a better RPG in the future. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Lufia 2. Why did I list those games? because they all wipe the floor with Secret of the Stars. If you want to play an excellent SNES RPG, play those, and don't even think about this stupid game.
