"This Game is sure a Weird One"

The sequel to the game about the popular worm is finally here, and I have to say this is a real weird one. Earthworm Jim seems a little bit on the ''retarded' side and is kind of funny to see him make an idiot out of himself all the time. The game does have a lot of humor but it lacks gameplay, and other things. I'll tell you how this game pans out.

GRAPHICS:9

They are good graphics because there is a lot of cool things in here. Earthworm Jim looks like a real worm, and those cows are always good to look at. Between levels there is also a good image of the cows. They are my favorite part of the game, and they have good imagery. It's a cartoon type game so don't expect anything like very good graphics you will drool over. It is not like that at all.

SOUND:7

There is some very unusual music in this game starting from the beginning cinema to the end. A lot of it sounds a little like hippie type music and is funny at first but get's old fast. Jim also makes comments a lot like ''groovy'' etc. and even the famous cows say ''well done'' in 4 types of voices between levels. I like that there is talking in the game but I think the music could have been a lot better, and I was expecting more.

GAMEPLAY:6

Jim can be sort of jerky at times and not move how you want him to. Sometimes it can be downright annoying when he doesn't go were you want, or he goes to far and gets it etc. It is like that for a few levels when you have to float around as some blind weird thing, and when Jim has to inflate his head and avoid numerous hard obstacles like light bulbs, and it gets really annoying when you can't get passed a certain area, and then you have to start all over and then lose at the same part later.

STORY:6

It is a typical story. Jim is trying to impress Princess What's Her Names (yes that is her real name) and she is kidnapped by the evil crow. Jim knows now that he must save her so I guess she will like him. Doesn't totally make a lot of since to tell you the truth.

CHALLENGE:9

This game is hard sometimes, and can really be downright frustrating at times. Sometimes I want to feed this game to my dog because it ticks me off so bad. Not that you can't beat the game or anything, it is just frustrating at certain points, and you will feel like you cannot get by it no matter what you do.

REPLAY:7

You will play this game again just to hear Jim talk maybe, or play puppy love. That's about it. I mean it is an all right game and I do play it sometimes but I usually get very bored, and turn it off after awhile.

BUY/RENT:RENT

This game really isn't more than a rent because by the time it is going to go back to the place you rented it from, you are not sad to see it go or anything. I bought this game, and it didn't live up to the first one, and I didn't play it as much. It is a great rent but that is it.

OVERALL:6

Don't get me wrong this is a good game when you start playing, but it just gets really boring after a while and you will turn it off. Remember, this game is really nothing more than a rent, and if you want to have the best Earthworm Jim game, stick with the original.
