Review by Omni Mage
"This one's a keeper..."
Ah, I remember when I was younger and first played this game. It was a very fun experience. Later on, I eventually bought the game, and haven't regretted it at all. This game is far from perfect, but it's definitely a keeper. Okay, enough with my rambling, on to the review!
Graphics~
For it's time, the graphics were great, and used the technology of the Super Nintendo to it's fullest. Even now, the graphics are still easy on the eyes. In my opinion, the graphics get 9/10. Other people may disagree with me on this, but I'm standing behind this one 100%. ^_^
Audio~
This game had great music, with a lot of variety. Some tunes were up-beat and fast, while others were dreary. I've heard better music in games, but this one still stands tall compared to most of them. I give sound 7/10.
Control/Gameplay~
Ah, the sweet controls this game was host to. The game was very easy to catch on to with the default set up, but you could mess with the controls to format them to your liking. Combos are quite easy to pull off, as well as Combo Breakers. With the default set up, I give it an 8/10.
Now, there are many ways you can play this game. You can use the ''run 'n' gun'' tactic, or an all out frontal assault. Try different things to see what you like.
Challenge~
This game was very easy for beginners to catch on to, with the difficulty at one star. Once you were good, you could move the par up a bit. This game is quite easy in my opinion, however. Even in the higher difficulty, if you're good, you can easily beat the CPU(If you know what you are doing of course. ^_^). I give it a 6/10 for difficulty.
Replay Value~
This game is definitely worth replaying. Just beating the game a few times wasn't enough to satisfy me, and I doubt it would be enough for most of you. Get out there and beat the game with all the characters, on the hardest difficulty settings. Also, master those moves, combos, juggles, etc. I say this game has a moderately high replay value.
Buy, or Rent?~
In my eyes, I deem this game worthy of buying. No SNES fighting gamer should be without this game. If you're not into taking the time to learn all of a character's moves, then you should probably just rent this one for the weekend.
The Final Words~
I give this game an 8/10, because of it's splendid variety and gameplay. I hope you enjoyed reading my review. ^_^
