"The best game I have ever played!"
Hello, my name is Josiah. This is a review for one of the best S.N.E.S. games ever (perhaps even the best). In this review, you will read about the basic things in the game and their ratings from a 1 to a 10.
Gameplay:
The gameplay in this game is outstanding! The game is not too easy and not too hard, just perfect. The controls are very easy to master too. Press 'B' to scroll through your weapons list, and 'Y' to use a weapon. Press 'A' to scroll through your items list, and 'X' to use an item. Press start to pause the game. Use the control pad to move your character. The Select button does not have any purpose in this game from what I understand. The 'L' button or the 'R' button will bring up your radar. your radar will tell you how close you are to a neighbor. The farthest it will show where a neighbor is, is about 25 - 30 feet. This game is VERY fun. I personally cannot stop playing it!
Score - 10 / 10
Story:
the story for Zombies Ate My Neighbors (Z.A.M.N.) is very original. the evil Dr. Tongue has spread a mysterious concoction that has turned nearly every person in your neighborhood into blood-thirsty monsters. It is up to Zack and Julie to save the remaining survivors.
Score - 10 / 10
Audio/Video:
The sounds in this game are superb! From the explosive death of a Chainsaw Maniac, to the scream of a dying neighbor, to the evil laugh of the sinister dolls. This game has very good sounds. But that's not it, of course. This game has certain music for certain levels. Like the relaxing music for the levels with just zombies or the 'you-are-going-to-die' music for the levels with the Chainsaw Maniacs. Flat-out, this game has very, very, VERY cool music that you will never get sick of.
Score - 10 / 10
Replayability:
You will never be able to stop playing this game! Seriously though, I have had this game for 5 years now and I still cannot stop playing it! One of the reasons you should play this game over and over and over again is because the items and weapons you get are ALWAYS random. Not like other games where the items and weapons are the same all the time, the weapons and items in this game are always unpredictable. This is one game that I'll be playing until I'm 85, and have arthritis because my thumbs have pressed the buttons too many times.
Score - 10 / 10
Miscellaneous:
The enemies, neighbors, items and weapons in this game are very neat. The weapons range from a Water Gun to a Bazooka, from an Ancient Cross to a Magical Treasure Box, from Tomatoes to Ice cream Bars! And that's just to name a few. The items range from a Medical Kit to Clowns, from a Monster Potion to a Ghost Potion, from a Key to a Skull Key. In short terms, the weapons and items will never bore you. The enemies in this game are quite creative. Some are very easy while others are almost impossible to beat. From Zombies to Evil Dolls, Giant Ants to a Giant Baby, Vampires to Frankensteins, Squidmen to Chainsaw Maniacs, and many, many more! The neighbors are pretty funny. From a teacher holding a paper with an F on it to a man cooking burgers at a grill, from a baby to a cheerleader, from a guy loafing around in the pool to a dog. All the neighbors are very distinct in their own ways. To sum it all up, this game has AWESOME weapons, items, enemies and neighbors.
Score - 10 / 10
Buy or Rent?:
This game you should definitely buy! Unless you have enough money to pay Blockbuster to rent the game for 10 years! Trust me, you will not regret buying this game. I haven't, I don't, and I will never regret it.
Total Score - 50 / 50
Average Score - 10 / 10
Final Word - Zombies Ate My Neighbors is quite definitely one of the best games for the S.N.E.S. (the best in my opinion). This game will keep you hooked for YEARS!
