Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters

Game Play-
7/10

Take Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and replace the characters with the people in the TMNT series. That's basically what the game is like. You have a handful of characters, each with their own unique moves. But you can be too cheap with them, though. For instance, Don's nunchuck-spear can be continuously pressed for ultimate cheap battle (I hate my brother).

You have a super meter in this game, which when filled up (you can fill it up by just attacking and being attacked) you can perform your super move, and every character in this game has their own super moves.

Control-
8/10

The moves are easy to do, the button setup is okay, I really have no complaints on this section. There are a few less moves for each character than I'd have wanted, but I can live with this.

Graphics-
7/10

The character sprites are pretty big, but the Turtlesome 4 really could've used more detail. I think they could've done that with the SNES hardware.

I really liked the backgrounds in this. They looked relaxing and use the good Konami-style graphics. The stages in this game are pretty unique also. They range from a Cafeteria to a Museum to a Back Alley, and each look great and detailed graphically.

Audio-
8/10

For some reason, the music in this game seems to follow different styles. They range from peaceful to fast to just odd. Some of them match their settings, and some obviously do not by using the process of Doodleation. I liked all the music, I just wish it'd match the settings more.

The sound effects are good, and sound just like Konami's 16-bit sound effects. (If you're a gaming expert like me, you find these things) The grunts and groans of the characters are pretty realistic-sounding, and sound allright.

Enjoyability-
7/10

I found this game to be pretty fun. While not as good as SSFII on the SNES, it still is a fun game. I'd say get it if you're a fan of fighting games.

Doodleheimer's Recommendationitivity

I'd say get this. I'd say you'll like this, and this is one of the best fighters of the 16-bit era. It has a good amount of characters, a pretty good amount of moves, and some pretty good stages. And I'll take this quote from the book of Doodleheimer: ''If you don't get this game, I'm gonna have to stand on pillows for five minutes without falling again'' Those words are as true today as they were 4 years ago.
