Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon

"The Rarest Game I Know of."

No reviews of this game? This rare game that only 14 people on Earth have even heard of? Well, that's about to change with my review of Rex Ronan: Experimental Surgeon.

In this game, you play as Dr. Rex Ronan, who must shrink down to molecular size and go inside someone's body (did anyone say Fantastic Voyage?) Inside this person, who's body is severely damaged due to the ill effects of smoking, you must repair damage an clean up gook, all while fighting weird robots (Robots? In someone's body?) To accomplish these tasks, you must use your Laser Scalpel, which isn't very effective against the robots. You can, however kick the robots, but that doesn't work very well either. There are also flying (yes, flying) levels in the game, in which you must travel through the arteries, trachea, bronchial tubes, what have you and destroy clogs of gook while flying to the next area. You will even have to fly through a hole in a rotating disk of gook. Why? I have no idea. Anyway, I should get to some specifics.

GRAPHICS: 5/10
The graphics aren't too bad, but sometimes sprites will appear in the wrong place in relation to the ground. The levels actually look like the place in the body that they are supposed to represent (except the lungs and the brain).

SOUND/MUSIC: 4/10
The music isn't terrible, but it doesn't stand out either. Same with the sound effects. Come to think of it, I can't even remember what the game sounds like.

CONTROL: 1/10
I think the numbers speak for themselves. The control is what makes this game as awful as it is. The hit detection is worse.

DIFFICULTY: 7/10
If the control wasn't so bad, I'd probably give this category a 5/10. The Heart is especially hard, since you must break apart a regenerating blood clot while robots attack you, and if the clot is closed for very long, the guy has a heart attack, and you die. Similarly, in the brain, you need to destroy regenerating blobs of nicotine addiction. Assuming you are thinking that is the the stupidest thing you've ever read, I agree.

REPLAY VALUE: 0/10
Trust me, you won't want to play this game once, let alone RE-play it.
