Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension
Review by CoffeeIsGreat
"The best game on the Snes, is there really any more to say?!"
Quite possibly one of the best fighters ever for the Snes/Famicom platform. How could they hold out on us so long! This Game is the last of the Dbz fighters for Snes/Famicom.
Graphics: Wow! These are some of the best graphics ever for the Snes platform! The attacks are spectacular! Everyone in the game looks nearly exactly like the anime that you and I watch on televison. One drawback to the graphics though would have to be the Ki blasts, which almost all look alike. Gohans Masenko looks just like Goku's Kamehameha, etc. etc. But characters such as Majin Vegeta have other attacks that look not so alike. Gotenks Super Ghost Kamikaze attack is spectacular, and original. But the regular small blasts look like fireballs, almost as though the creators had no time to make them look and better.
Music and Sound: Very nice and smooth music, never seems to hang up like many games on the Snes platform. Not saying that it is amazing though, since it wasn't. But the sound FX could have been no better. Great voices, and very nice attack yells. All different attacks use different sounds. Something unseen in earlier Dragon Ball games which usually repeated boring sounds over and over.
Control: These controls just may very well be perfect. Hard to believe? Well believe it my friend. The controls of HD are simplified, yet do take some brainpower to pull off the right moves at the right time, and to move in the right combination. This proves difficult to beat faster characters who can dodge when they see you trying to pull off a large ki blast. Another good thing about the attacks controls is that ki blasts are chargeable. When the last button of the combination for an attack is held down for x amount of seconds it gets more and more powerful. But the longer the charge, the more time a tricky opponent has time to get out of the way and put you down for the count. Very easy controls to remember.
Gameplay: Oh, the best section of all. This game has the most astounding and satisfying game play of any game I have ever played. You would agree with me if you have played it. The gameplay consists of Story Mode,or Tenkachi Boudaki (which is the Dragon ball world tournament). The story mode goes along the way it wants to, you really have no control over how it plays out. But you must beat your foe in order to advance to the next story line. But one point is, if you know that even when you beat a character that it still tells you something of the sort of ''Da*n! Hes too strong'' then your fastest way of passing that level is to let yourself be overtaken, it takes no Senzu beans away from you, since its impossible to win even if you get no damage and beat the pants off of the enemy. The characters list is as follows: Goku, Majin Vegita, Gotenks, Son Gohan, Vegitto, Piccolo, Perfect Cell, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Furiza, and Perfect Cell. Senzu beans may be important later on so dont be taken by the early characters such as Cell to easily. It will take some practice. But it is possible to beat the entire game without using any senzu beans.
So in conclusion this game is a Dragon Ball/ Fighter fans dream game. Get it!
