Review by Black Star

"If you gave this game anything less than an 8, I officially dub you a Poser Gamer."

In the 2nd(and last, at least at this point) game released by Square of America, you play a young blonde kid who enjoys ''B'' movies and makes far too many references to them, in my opinion. You and your little dog(Who is let into the movie for any amount of reasons) walk out of the theatre into the gloomy Podunk weather. Little did they know that it would be that day that they were transported to the fantastic world of Evermore...

You then make your way around the corner to spot an ugly orange tabby. Now, your dog's instinctive...um...instincts tell him that he HAS to chase that cat. And you have to chase after him. The dog continues to run until he, compelled by some strange Dog Diety that humans would never understand, makes a 90 degree angle turn into a huge, mysterious mansion. You go in after him. Some junk's knocked over. AAH! A MUMMY! Hey....what's this? A machine? It looks like some futuristic teleporter...NO, DON'T BITE THAT! Bzzap...gone.

The next thing you know, you wake up inside a laboratory with a professor looking guy and an evil servant looking guy. You're then thrown into the bay, where you find a very conveniantly placed bazooka and are attacked by killer robots(with a feminine touch of pink paint.) After defeating these robots, the escape pod is open to you. You dash away! And stupidly crash in a forest. Good job, loser. The adventure begins...

Graphics - 9/10 The graphics are great. Much darker and earthier than Secret of Mana. Everything looks much better, in my opinion.

Sound - 11/10 This game has some of the best music I've seen in a Square game, by Japan or not. Check out VGMusic.com's SNES section if you want to listen to them. I strongly suggest the ''Halls of Colloisia.''

Gameplay - 7/10 This is the place where the game hurts. Attacks can be a little confusing to operate. But, essentially, it's identical to Secret of Mana.

Originality - --/10 I can't give it any points here. Gameplay and graphics are ripoffs/enhancements of SoM's, but the story and magic system are so original that it cancels it out. So...yeah.

Rent/Buy: Buy. You'll be able to find it real cheap nowadays. I got mine for a mere seven dollars. =D Box and all.
