"Truly, an underrated game"
In my opinion, this is an underrated game. One time, I told people on the SNES board to rate my collection, and they all marked-off points just for owning Home Alone. But as you will see, I actually think that this is an *o.k.* game by THQ.
Story - Obviously, everyone here must know the story of Home Alone. Do I even have to explain?
Gameplay(7/10) Home Alone for the Snes is actually, pretty fun. Loaded
with weapons like a baseball, a squirt gun, slingshot, and BB gun, you have to go around the house's 4 wings, and pick-up all the valuable jewelry, electronics, fun toys, & expensive pets before the wet-bandits get to them first. Then, once you have about 5-6 items, you drop them down the vent, so that they fall into the basement. Once you have all the items in the basement, you have to go into the basement and beat the level's boss. If you beat the boss, you can go to the pile of valuables and lock them up in the safe!
Audio/Video(7/10) This game has different music for each level, and some special rooms have their own kind of music too. Each tune is kind of catchy. This game doesn't have the best graphics (typical for the Snes), but it has a lot of detail in the background. It show stuff like, lamps, beds, wall pictures, Different colored rooms, cabinets, ext.
Controls(9/10) The controls are very easy to learn. You don't even need the instruction booklet to know the controls perfectly within 10 minutes of buying the game.
Challenge(5/10) This game is fairly easy to play. Although, there are a few places where I struggled. (like the last two basements)
Replay Value (5/10) Here is just about the only problem. While the gameplay and music are great, once I had beaten the game only about five times, it got a little boring. It, now is a game where I take it out once a week to play.
Overall(6/40) This game, overall is worth playing, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to pay more than five dollars for it. I think it is an ok game. I don't know why everyone here feels like it is a piece of trash that they would pay to get rid of. My last statement is that the Genesis Home Alone is nothing like this game (I have both). And if anyone likes the Home Alone movie, I'd suggest you have both of these games.
