"Colorful! Hooray for color!"
Well here's an oddball game. Mario Paint. One of the only games I know of that uses the Power Pad thing. Well I got it at a cheap price and I played it. I found it to be somewhat glitchy, but otherwise quite a blast. Let's see the scores
---Story (N/A)
There's no story! DUH! Onwards...
---Graphics (8/10)
I'm only rating the graphics that are already in the game, not the pictures you can make. I guess the graphics look pretty good. Standard SNES graphics, and colorful too! Definitely doesn't make me want to puke
---Audio (4/10)
Once again I am not rating the music you can make in this game, only the sounds already in it. The sounds are not really special, just filling in stuff and erasers, and they are just a tad bit fuzzy. But the music, oh god, the music is PAINFUL! Save me from this catastrophe that is called the music! You have 4 choices, and 1 is no music, which is kind of creepy, so just stick with Track 1.
---Control (6/10)
The mouse bugged me a whole lot. The stupid thing doesn't usually go to where I want it to go, making me mess up my pictures and having to use that friggin undo button endlessly. It's probably just dirt though. Of course, some parts of the game can get confusing and hard to control, but nothing all too serious.
---Gameplay (9/10)
The beginning title screen just shows how much fun this game really is. You can click on the letters in the title of the game and different things will happen (Heck, there's even a secret within this!). Then you click on Mario and go to the painting screen. From here you paint pictures. Definitely not masterpieces at first like in the manual, but soon they'll resemble something :) But it doesn't stop there! You can color in pictures (like Color-A-Dinosaur, so rather pointless part.) There are also stamps to add into your pictures, and some of them are Mario stamps. You can even make your own stamps! The best part is the fact that you can make miniature films too! You can create animations in the animator thing and even compose your own music to go along with it (even though the music often seems retarded.) There's even a flyswatter game! That's what good this game has to offer, and the only bad point I can find is the glitches. This game crashes for different reasons. Like every time I try to quit the flyswatter game it freezes! Sometimes the erasers cause the game to crash too. The last straw has to be the fact that the save feature works as well as an invisible sponge. That's right, IT ALWAYS CRASHES!
---Replay Value (9/10)
You will come back! You will come back! YOU WILL COME BACK! And trust me... YOU WILL COME BACK!
---Challenge (Flyswatter: 8/10)
Only the flyswatter game counts because everything else is only a challenge against the mouse. The flyswatter game is pretty hard, but only play it if you are going to stop, because there's no going back!
---Overall (8/10)
If you find this game and a Power Pad, go get it for the sake of trying it out. You can make some cool animations with music and stuff. Whatever, I'm done.
