NBA Live 97

"The Greatest Live on the SNES!"
NBA Live '97 is perhaps the best live ever on SNES. The game has great features, and is guaranteed to give you the most fun a basketball game on the SNES could give you.
CONTROLS:10
An easy category to get a 10, and this game made no mistake. The controls of this game get an easy ten.
GAMEPLAY:10
This part of the game was perfect. During an exhibition game you can change everything from out of bounds to slow motion dunks. You can play a season with 28, 56, or 82 games. Some of my favorite modes in this game are the 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 half court games. I still play it all the time. You can push the other team without being called for a foul. It really gets fun, especially after you create some players and play with or against them. The create a player feature is excellent. You can make the hair, name, height, weight, etc. And you can also change the ratings of a player. In NBA Live '97 you can make changes to the original rosters, so that even when you play exhibition you play with your edited teams. This allowed me to update the rosters to the NBA today, somewhat. There is only a certain number of created players you can make, so you cannot fully update the rosters.
GRAPHICS:10
If you looked at these graphics right now, you would say they are nothing big. But on the SNES these graphics were pretty good. I've seen some SNES basketball games with very bad graphics compared to these. The graphics for this game is an easy ten.
SOUND:10
The sound is pretty good in this game. All the sounds on the court are good. You can hear the dribbling with the basketball and the cheers from the crowd. On the main menu screen the music is even better. The music is just perfect.
REPLAY VALUE:10
I still play this game all the time. It packs in hours of fun, and right after you're done you're ready to play again. I never got tired of this game. There is so much to play, it really keeps you busy. In a season you can play 82 games, that takes a while if you actually play all 82 games.
BUY OR RENT?
Anyone who has a SNES must get this game! You are not a basketball fan without this game! I got it for $20 but right now you can probably get it for $12. This is definitely one of the best basketball games if not the best!
OVERALL:10
This game is great. If you don't have it, get it. There are no faults and many hours of fun included. This is the perfect basketball game.
