Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Another Story
Review by angelwing celes
"This game feeds your ANIME and ROLE-PLAYING GAME needs all at once!"
Sailor Moon-As a young child I loved to watch cartoons. I soon started getting into Japanese Anime without even knowing. I slowly was becoming a diehard anime fan. The two anime that sparked my interest were of course Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball. However, I favored Sailor Moon more than Dragon Ball. My friend also liked Sailor Moon and had many Sailor Moon fighting games. I thought these games would not be very entertaining. I was not too fond of fighting games because I loved Role-Playing games more, but the Sailor Moon fighting games were an exception! I played many Sailor Moon fighting games and I learned to love them! Then a few years ago I discovered that a group of Sailor Moon fans made a Sailor Moon game that was a role-playing game.
Gameplay-This game is definitely a fun game! Any age group can play this game because it's appropriate for all ages. Sailor Moon: Another Story is also a very easy game to play. I highly recommend this game for a first time Role-Playing Game! The battle system is so simple that you can learn how to effectively win battles in five minutes of your first battle! This game also features 'Link Tech's' which are special moves that a sailor scout can preform with another scout or with two other scouts!
Score-9/10
Story-The story is like a continuation of the 'Sailor Moon S' series. The story line is very simple and quite unique. At the beginning, we are informed about the threat of a un-ordinary comet heading to earth. As the story progresses, we are introduced to the main villain of the game. This main villain has banded together five misguided youths and had convinced them to help her do her evil deeds. However, the Sailor Scouts are earth's only line of defense against these terrible trouble makers! The 'Inner Scouts'(Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter) and 'Outer Scouts'(Mini-Moon, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto) must gather together to take on the new threat! The story is also divided into chapters which is quite interesting since it's like an interactive novel! Also, monsters that appeared on the previous Sailor Moon series have made a surprised return. From the twisted Ail to utterly insane Doctor Tomoe!
Score-9.5/10
Audio/Video-The Graphics are very impressive for an 'old school' game. All the character avatars are really amazing. These avatars can also express emotions like the famous sweat-mark to a embarrassed bright red face. The music is also a great feature to a superb game. Many of the themes in the game were extremely contagious! I found myself singing the sad theme when I was depressed and I hummed the 'Fantasy Attraction' theme when I was hyper! There is a soundtrack for the game which I strongly advise buying since all the songs on the soundtrack are awesome!
Score-10/10
Replay- Like all role-playing games, Sailor Moon: Another Story can be replayed many times without getting boring! I suggest playing this game at least two or three times because it will help you really appreciate this game.
Lastly, this game was released in 1995 and it is still popular. I believe this game is a type of game that is destined to remain popular for years to come.
