"A cool TV show makes a cool game..."
Uh, like...introduction...or something...uhhuhhuhhuhh
I've always liked MTV's Beavis and Butthead, and many times I've been caught by my parents while watching it. But now, at the age of twenty-one, I recently found a copy of the SNES installment of this game. It's just what I imagine from a B&B game, too.
Gameplay 10-10. You fight your way through the streets of Highland, picking up items that will help you in your quest. You'll travel through your high school, the hospital, Tom Anderson's garage and so-forth. There are lots of weapons you'll find along your way, too. Well...maybe not lots. I think there are about three kinds. There's a glove thingy on a stick for hitting people with, a gun and I think baseballs as well.
Control ? Well, I'm still working on it, so we'll see. I can't really rate it.
Audio 10-10. Gwar supplies the music to this game, all but maybe a few, one of which is the classic Beavis and Butthead theme song. That song is very well-done here, too. Oh, and for those not into heavy metal and rock music, Gwar is a heavy metal band that Beavis and Butthead think are cool.
Anyway, as for the sound, there isn't much to speak of, but each event has its sound. And yes, Beavis and Butthead both have their trademark laugh as well as a few voice clips. When you pick up an item, sometimes Beavis will say, ''Yes!'' Also, on the menu screen when you move the cursor, Beavis will say Change it. Then when you make your choice, Butthead says, ''We're there, dude.'' There's also the standard grunt when you take damage, but if you get hit with something (I.E. a bat), there's even a sound for that, and Buthead has his little yell that he'd make on the TV show when Beavis or somebody would hit him.
Challenge ? Some of the areas you'll fight through are pretty tough. An example is when you're trying to get into Tom Anderson's garage. Anderson himself isn't that tough, but his dog is a different story. He's really tough!
Story 10-10. Our two couch potatoes recently heard that their favorite band, Gwar, was doing a show in their town of Highland. However, the boys don't h ave tickets. No sweat. Maybe if they could get pictures of themselves doing cool stuff... Yep, you fight your way through the town of Highland and at the end of each level you take a picture of something, ultimately winding up at the Gwar concert.
Overall 10-10. Like...uh...uhhuhhuhhuhhuhh, give it a try...or something.
