"Not thaaaat bad. . ."

I'd like to start off by saying that this game took me a while to get into. The hitting annoyed, the make up players annoyed me, and the fielding system annoyed me. After really playing the game, though, I've gotta say, I liked it. So with no further ado heres my review.

Graphics: 6.5/10
Nothing too bad here. Players and stadiums look good even if every player is almost an exact clone of the next one. The fielding screen is definetly below par, and should be the kinda thing on a standard nintendo system, not this. I like the error animation, but other than that not too great.

Sound: 3.5/10
Play ball! Thats the only sound in the whole game that sticks with me. Its scratchy and bad. The music never got on my nerves so that's a plus and the ball hitting the bat is a sound that exists, I think. This isn't the game's strong point at all.

Controls: Varies
Batting: 7.5/10 Easy to control after you learn it. Can be too easy or very annoying, no huge complaints here.

Fielding: 4.5/10 I hate running at the ball and missing it and having the whole team shift when I tell one guy to go right. This is the easiest game to get an inside the park homer in.

Gameplay: 6.5/10
I have a lot to explain.
First off, like most baseball games, this game is overly easy, and somewhat addictive.
There is a create a team/player mode (its one and the same), in which there is no limitations, and though it makes the game easy, its a lot of fun.
There are exhibition and season modes. The season mode is the same thing as exhibition except organized. The biggest mistake they made in this game is not actually keeping track of player stats at all creating a game with no actual goal.
There is a Vs. mode where you can play a friend, which is a definite plus.
The second biggest flaw in the game is there is a slaughter rule. If a team is up ten runs at the end of the inning, the game is over. How UNFUN!!!! There is no comebacks, the game has to be close or its over. LLAAAAAMMMEEE!

Replay: 8.5
This is really all that keeps the game together. I don't know what it is. Whether it be my created team, the ability to tinker with them and challenge myself, or the fact that there isn't much opposition when it comes to SNES baseball games. All I know is I keep coming back to play it.

All in all a game worth checking out. If you can find it cheap like for 5 bucks or less at a funcoland or something, go for it. If not maybe you should leave it alone.
