"Nintendo destroys another classic"

Soon after the smash hit wolfenstein 3d was released, id decided to give this game a home on a console, but nintendo, being the neo-fascists that they are (they've edited Mortal Kombat, Duke Nukem 3d and Doom and probably more than these 3) decided to beat this game with a lead pipe until all of the good features rattled about and fell from the box of this game. Okay, maybe not that dramatic but nintendo saw the original and made id edit the blood out, remove all swastikas, remove any hitler related facial hair (i e moustache), change dogs to rats, and kill their first born. (hey, how did that get in there?)

The graphics in this game aren't the epitome of excellence here, clarity is a figment of a player's imagination for the sprites. Players now probably ask themselves if they're heavily intoxicated, but they aren't. The sprites are more pixelated than the PC version of the game.

The sound isn't exactly the most convincing either, the weapons sound like they're trapped inside a plastic bubble, the soldiers in the game don't yell German anymore (Nintendo just had to remove any possible authenticity) but say things like ''Stop'' and ''Hey, you''.

Gameplay is still somewhat existant. There's still shoot and open doors and all that other stuff.

Enemies, brown wuss guards, white speedy guards, blue strong SS with machine guns, mutants with chest pistols, a galoot with two chainguns, a galoot with syringes of death, a galoot with a rocket launcher, a female galoot with two chainguns, a galoot with a chaingun and a rocket launcher,a rat and hitler with no moustache.

Weapons are the knife, chaingun, pistol, machine gun, and two new weapons, rocket launcher and flamethrower. This may be a possible reason to play this atrocity of a game.

Controls are pretty simple and you won't have any trouble trying to play this game.

Overall, this game is heavily edited and a lot of the features the original had were removed but if you are a truly forgiving gamer, unlike myself, then you may enjoy this game somewhat for the actual gameplay, if you aren't forgiving, get the PC or GBA or 3DO versions, they have what you're looking for.

Buy or rent? rent. this game has had most of the authenticity of the PC version taken away and may not appeal to gamers as well as the PC version might. If you decide to buy it, Amazon and Ebay are good places to look, or your local Funco Land or a similar used game store.
