"The last NBA live game for SNES"
Introduction
NBA live, is a series of game based on the NBA itself. NBA live 98 was the last NBA live game that was made for SNES, as the gaming world started to move toward 32-bit system.
The game itself is really a good one. Especially if you are a basketball fans, large chances you will like this game. The game contain real players from 29 NBA teams and 2 all-star team. There were also extra features like 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 match which is like street basketball. You also have the option of choosing the type of matches you want to play. Here you can choose Exhibition match, which is just a friendly match between two teams. Season mode that allow you to play a full NBA season. Playoff mode with let you play the game from the playoff stages of the NBA season. Moreover, you have the option of creating your own player and trading player between teams.
Gameplay 8/10
In terms of gameplay, the game did fairly well. You can customize the rule on how you play the game, whether you will choose to play in simulation mode with rules just like in NBA or you can customize it so that it will have no rule at all. The control are also quite easy to learn. There aren't any combination of button that you press to do certain moves.
Graphics 8/10
The graphic might not be comparable to NBA live game for 32-bit system, but for an SNES the graphics are truly remarkable. You could see the texture of the basketball court in each team.
Sound 7/10
Not too bad here, especially in terms of sound effect. You can hear the bouncing of the ball as you dribble the ball. You could also hear the cheering spectators as you play the game. However though in terms of the commentatories of the game, it is lacking with no variety at all.
Replay Value 7/10
You might be bored playing after sometimes. However probably you might play the game again in the future. You can choose from 29 teams and 4 customized one. With this you can always create different matches, with each matches produces different result.
Conclusion
NBA Live 98 for SNES is a good basketball games. If you are a basketball fans, then probably you should try to get this game. However if you are not too fond of basketball I wouldn't recommend you of getting it.
