Nickelodeon GUTS

"Score one for nickelodeon"

The main reason for my headline is I LOVED NICKELODEON Shows like this, Wild & Crazy Kids, Finders Keepers, Legends of the hidden Temple, and Double Dare (DD available on NES). I remember going through an old video game magazine and seeing the add for this and I wanted it, but never been able to remember. Last month I DL'd the ROM for it and was totally surprised.

Graphics: 9/10
Everything is detailed nicely, and the Extreme Arena (if thatws what its called) looks really cool. Even the referee (Mora Quirk on TV) is kinda easy to tell its her.

Sound: 3/10
Nothing much here, you have near silent generic music, crowd gaspings, water swishings, running into walls, someone screaming all right about 20 times per game and a pathetic sounding on your mark get so <blows whistle.>

Stages:
Slam Dunk: Speaks for itself. If you know what your doing you should get 25 shots off. A preffered score here is 80 or better.

Arial Attack: You fling a tennis ball at a net. Same as above, get 80 or above to have a shot.
theres another game like this with throwing a football and same rules apply.

Basic training: Climb ropes, dodge bean bags, run throw water, climb bridges, and walk under tight areas. You have 6:00. You should have no problem winning in 1:20 unless you really suck.

Tornado Run: A Little tougher then Basic Training with more obstacles (u need to do the backflip jump alot) and you have 7:00 here. Finish in 2:30 is a preffered.

80+ 80 + 280 + 270= 710, just enough to go to the Crag.

Aggro Crag:You have 7:00 to light up 6 targets including the final one at the peek of the mountain. Here you must dodge alot. Hitting water coming down covers the screen like waterfall, running throw gust of smoke fogs the screen, and boulders knock you down. No matter your score (1 player game) you win. It takes a good 4:00 to beat this stage.

Challenge: 7/10
First timers will need to adapt to the button control here and once you have the hang of it (and the timing) its a peice of cake.

Replayability: 9/10
No matter what, its fun. You'll also see yourself trying to beat your own score. My highest going into the Crag was about 763. 2 Player mode is more fun and has more competition.

Overall: 8/10
It's probably cause i'm bias, but I LIKED this game. I reccomdend though for people to rent it to see if they would enjoy it.
