"Super Mario, Donkey Kong Country, Adams Family?"
The Adams Family was one of the first platform games for the SNES. And it was one of the best. Slick graphics, perfect control combined with simple addictive gameplay made a very fun platformer.
------------------------------
Graphic Technology 9.5
------------------------------
When this game came out it had some of the very best graphics for the system. Rich colorful graphics fill the screen with well animated large sprites. The graphics today still look good.
------------------------------
Graphic Style 10
------------------------------
The game artist did a grate job in recreating the spooky mansion. All of the various environments look fantastic. The game looks lie a more cartoonish Castlevania SOTN.
------------------------------
Sound FX 8
------------------------------
The game has above average sound effects. Nothing to special.
------------------------------
Music 7.5
------------------------------
The music in the game is fairly good. There is just not enough of it.
------------------------------
Control 10
------------------------------
The control for this game is perfect. Response time and Layout is perfect. I especially like how the L and R buttons make fine movements for careful edge jumping.
------------------------------
Gameplay 9
------------------------------
The gameplay is very simple. You go through various levels to fight a boss. While you can jump to kill there are other items to help. The problem is that there is not enough of them. Most of the time it will just be you, unarmed. While simple it fits the game well leaving you wanting more.
------------------------------
Originality 9
------------------------------
This game made a right turn for improving on the basic formula. Better graphics, sound and bigger levels. Adams Family did all this right. The only real improvement I think it did for the genre is how all the levels are connected. No overworld map. It makes the mansion seem more real and large.
------------------------------
Presentation 9
------------------------------
Great intro, tons of secrets and a password support. This game is visually stunning and every graphical aspect of the game show this.
------------------------------
Difficulty 8
------------------------------
This game can get pretty hard at times. Mainly the Oven level. If you take your time and carefully go through it will be mildly hard.
------------------------------
Balance 9.5
------------------------------
The game is very well balanced. Secrets are well worth the effort in
finding. The game goes through smoothly and never gets boring. The only real problem is there is not enough powerups/money placed around the mention.
------------------------------
Replay 8
------------------------------
This game can be usually completed in 5-8 hours depending on skill. There are tons of secrets to find each time through. If you like the game you will probably play it through at least 3 times. Fun each time!
------------------------------
Fun/Factor 9
------------------------------
This game is very fun. Exploring the mansion and finding secrets is enjoyable. The game can get frustrating some times.

Buy or Rent---Buy
------------------------------
Buy it for around $9!
