"Easy Cartoon Game"

Yogi Bear is a simple little game released in 1994 that was released before Yogi made his "big comeback" in 1995. Young gamers should enjoy this one, but if you're not a fan of Yogi you might want to steer clear of this one.

You "hop ‘n' bop" through five different side-scrolling levels, in a really simple fashion geared toward the younger generation. You get to play as Yogi, in search of "Pic-a-nic baskets." The usual array of cartoon enemies is out to greet you - menacing snowmen and evil skunks.

The simplicity of the game wears thin quickly - you go through the game, dodge enemies and look for picnic baskets, all on your way to find Booboo. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

The graphics are pretty well done. The forests and rivers are all illustrated just beautifully. Large sprites, vegetation and crystal-clear lakes all look pretty good. The music is a neat little array of jazz tunes, and the sound effects are cartoonish. More voices might have been much better, though.

Yogi's worth a try if you're a younger gamer, or if you want to relieve a Hanna-Barbera childhood. Still, though, a pretty good game, although it is quite, quite easy.
