Dragon Ball Z: Chou Saiya Densetsu

"An awesome DBZ RPG!"

The last thing I would see myself writing, was something based on Dragon Ball Z, but I was wrong! This is something you would definitely want to add to the dusty SNES collection of yours. I didn't really like the lame fighting games that was in DBZ for a while.... but this RPG was a real good bounce back from the fighting games.

Story 10/10
Well, The story is always priceless. The story varies many times. You start off as Goku and Piccolo, to go find Goku's son. This changes at times, to Vegeta arriving, to going to another planet. Sometimes it's to train little Gohan. To rescuing Goku. As always, the main plot to stop the evil Saiyans.

Game Play 9/10
Extremely fun and amusing Game play. This game can really push some SNES games to its limit. The battles are very realistically done, such as doing a special move, and the enemy going flying, and smashing into a rock and usually dying. All the stuff you see in the TV show. It's just awesome to actually play it. This really could score of 10.... but.... The card system is too dang confusing to me! I don't know about other players, but this system is kind of stupid and lame to fight.

Graphics 10/10
The game ranks very high on these standards. These stand out the best in the game. The environment is nicely done (oceans, mountains, caves, battlefields, all in good details.) One thing that stands out the most in graphics. Is just the battles. The fighting is just like the TV show, and the graphics are just like the TV show as well! One thing I like best, is the dramatization of anime when you are going to do a special move, or when you are going to 'fly and ram' an opponent, it does it neat little anime picture.

Last Ability 10/10
This game will probably last you 10X then any of the SNES DBZ games will. Why? Well duh, it's a RPG, RPG's last long. The other DBZ games are usually fighting games, which is just beat the round, read some story, beat another person. Usually you also have to use strategies and certain items to beat bosses in this game. So it's a bit more strategic then the fighting games...

Rent Or Buy
Somehow, just somehow, if your still playing that old SNES. Consider picking this rare find up. There maybe some ROMs floating around if you cannot find this game, either way, it's a great thing to pick up if you're a fan of the DBZ series. Believe it or not, I'm not a big fan, but my friends are huge fans, so I decided to try a game out. It's worth a change from those fighting games in the DBZ series too, so, as I've said, consider adding this to your DBZ collection.
