Bahamut Lagoon

"Squaresoft can do what was thought impossible"
Graphics: 9/10
Oh my gosh!!! The graphics on this game are amazing, but don't quite live up to star ocean's. The way that squaresoft made everything look, it looks almost as if they went with the style of final fantasy 3. The way the colors are used are sometimes dark to indicate the presence of evil and or bad, which made the game even more fun to play. With most games, persons of the same class would look the same, graphics wise, but in this particular game, each person has a different graphic, regardless if they are the same class or not. And the fact that each dragon has their own graphics, and when they transform, they keep their stats but graphics change majorly.
Music: 10/10
Wow!!! The way they intertwined the setting with the music would amaze you, as it did to me. I still can't believe that squaresoft was able to make this music, it is a beautiful masterpiece of a soundtrack. The sound effects work well too, especially the fact that each dragon has its own growl makes it more cool too. I just loved the way that the up-close battle music was the same, so each battle gave you that exciting feeling, but each boss battle gave you that chilling feeling that made you want to kick the... living poop out of him/her.
Gameplay: 10/10
This is the impossible part: Squaresoft was able to combine the strategy of Warsong (Sega Genesis) with the up-close battle style of Final Fantasy 4+. In this game, you feed your dragons anything!!! Be it sword or herb or armor, those dragons are hungry. So guess what! You get to feed them the way you want to and by what you give them makes them stronger and more ready for the next great battle expected of them. The downside is they give you too many weapons and armors you already have so you feed them to the dragons. Problem of this is later on in the game, the items cost just a tad bit TOO much. I would recommend this game to fans of der langrisser (warsong), but most unfortunate to you fans out there, the way they mixed warsong and final fantasy will make you drop your jaw. Have fun and make sure you feed those dragons. Great job squaresoft, you've taken my heart again!
