"An old but great game"

Only two reviews? For such a great game? Arrg this makes my blood boil. Anyways, on with the review!

Note: I can't spell all the names right, it's been so long.

Background
A guy called Adol, and his brother, Dogi, are travelling in the land of Ys. A fortune-teller lady in a village asks them if they would like their fortune told. She asks if they're from Redmont, then her crystal ball shatters into one less than a million pieces. She says something about Galbathran (can't spell it). Adol and Dogi go back to their hometown, fearing the worst. While on the outskirts of the town, a puma (or something like that) attacks them. They slay it, but not before wondering why it attacked them (since they normally don't attack).

Story: 7
Adol goes into the Tigre Quarry and tries to find out the source of all these miners dying. He uncovers a ''plot'' of sorts for Galbathran to rule the land of Ys, and his hometown, Redmont.

Not that original, but hey? Who said life was a bunch of roses?

Graphics: 8
Right now, the graphics look pug-ugly. Anything now that's not in 3D is brushed off as ''pug-ugly'', ''fugly'', or ''just plain ugly''. But you have to remember that this was made a long time ago. So at it's time, it was pretty good looking.

Even nowadays, the backdrops look pretty awesome. Near the entrance of the town (it has a bridge), there's a pretty cool background of a waterfall gushing into a river, where the bridge serves it's purpose. The mountains, especially, have a sort of ''breathtaking'' view of a mountain range. All in all, it's pretty good.

Sounds: 4
Same as Jedi Knight Gamer, the sounds are only...slashing of sword, *bleep* of the dialogue scrolling, damage noises, and...um...yes, the sounds of items being used! Ah medicore at best.

Music: 10
Interesting music, though repetitive. It's still very catchy, I can still remember some of the tunes! From half a decade ago!

Fun: 10
Yes it's very fun, like Yoshi's Island, only with less better graphics (that didn't make sense, did it?). But hey, Yoshi's Island had a chip in it that IMPROVED the graphics! (Maybe this one does too, I don't know).

Where was I? Oh yeah...
Difficulty: 8
It's pretty easy at parts. In the Quarry, to level up easily all you have to do is stay in a certain spot, tape the ''Y'' and ''Up'' buttons down, turn off the TV, and leave for a few hours.

But some of the bosses are pretty hard to beat, especially in the Castle and on Galbathran's Island (and Galbathran himself, of course).

And some of the enemies kill you in one or two hits too.

Controls: 10
Unless you're a REAL butterfingers, then you should have the sufficent dexterity to use both thumbs at the same time. Which is all you really need, really.

Overall: 8
Hey most of my memories from 5 years ago are about this game. You'll like it too (if you ever get your hands on a copy of it, that is)
