"The best 16 bit dragon ball fighting game"

Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension is one of the coolest import games you can get for the super nintendo. It provides hours of fun by yourself or against a friend with the classic characters that made dragonball famous.

The Gameplay in this game surpasses that of the previous Super Butoden games. This game compacts the life and energy bars of the super butoden games into one bar, which requires a lot more strategy, because battles could last forever. Each character has a wide variety of moves based on thier moves from the show, and they're all easy to perform with street fighter style motions. You can also pull off some simple juggling combos in this game, like street fighter. All in all, the gameplay is paced pretty fast, and any fighting game fan will feel right at home. The only problem is the air battle system. Unlike super butoden, you must hit a character with a special motion that catapults them to a screen above, Mortal Kombat 3 style. Once in the air, you are free to move all around the screen, and punching or kicking will send you flying across the screen. This is very annoying, and you'll probably find yourself desperately trying to get back on the ground. But this is'nt a huge problem.

The graphics in this game are some of the best seen on the SNES. They are very detailed and well animated, and the characters look like there based more on Akira Toriyamas own drawings than of the shows cels. All the characters have awesome as hell opening and win animations, for example, Freezas shows him going through all his different transformations before his final one. The fireballs look sweet as hell, as they scale out at the opponent. And then you have the meteo attacks. They all are so cool. For example, gokou jumps in with a flurry of kicks and punches, then powers up to super saiyan 3, knocks his opponent down with a flying uppercut, rises up into the air and turns back to normal black haired gokou, forms a huge genki dama, throws it at his opponent, and turns back to super saiyan 2. Youre opponent will be either dead or pissed.

The music in this game is average,16 bit music, and the sound effects are well done, with a lot of voice work for the charcters, that sound like they do on the show.

The story mode in this gme is especially cool, with it taking you from the fight against freeza, to the destruction of majin buu. Whats cool is that you can lose some fights, and still continue with the story. The characters in this game are the best including a total of ten characters: Gokou, Majin Vegeta, Gohan, Gotenks, Vegetto, Piccolo, Mr.Buu, Majin Buu, Cell, and Freeza.

The game provides great replay value, as does any good fighting game. I've owned it for several months, and still play it a lot,but this might be because I'm a huge fan of the show,

If you can find this game for a reasonable price, buy it.
