"A Step-Up for 16-bit Basketball Gaming"
Graphics: 8: The graphics were brand new with 3-D rotation, courtesy of the SNES's Mode 7 capabilities. The players were detailed nicely and the basketball court looked pretty good. There was no crowd at all however, just a blue background.
Sound: 7: The dribbling and all other in-courtSound effects sounded right. The game had a nice opening theme music too.
Gameplay: 8: Gameplay was simple, pass the ball down the court and shoot a basket. There were 4 different types of dunks. There were no actual player, just made up names. They had player arrows over each position of each basketball player. You can play a 16-game season and go on into the Final 4 Tournament, you can save your game from anypoint during it onto the game pack(i.e. leave the game in the middle of the second half and finish it the next day). Players can get fouled out of the game is they get 5 or more personal fouls.
Replay Value: 8: The game can be played by up to 2 players so you can have your friend play with you. Also if you have to do something in the middle of the game you can just save during the middle of it and play where you left off anytime you want.
Overall Score: 8: The game was really a step up in 16-bit basketball gaming with the 3-D rotation and the option of being able to pick up where you last saved during a game was pretty cool. If you happen to see this game in the used game bargain bin make sure not to pass it up.
